They have already gotten her out of bed, used a walker to sit in chair with knees bent, and she just ordered chicken noodle soup and creme brulee. I wish I was as tough as my mom. The surgery center she is in has a personal chef

Just heard that my mom is not doing so well today. They are having problems with regulating pain medication and she seems confused. So please keep those prayers coming.

Talked to my older sister and she said mom is doing okay. It appears my brother exaggerated her condition, and told my sister she needed to come to the hospital. She said she did have a rough morning as they were having problems finding the right pain med for her, and that the pain meds were making her a little "loopy" then. But they had her walking this afternoon and she had been sitting in her chair for the past hour. I think she also needs a few breathing treatments as her oxygen level is a tad bit low.

I guess my brother expected her to be skipping down the hallway since she did so well yesterday.

She did say that she was not having the other knee done.

Good to hear. I am sure the pain meds given at recovery helped her do so well yesterday. Today the pain and swelling and all that junk are kicking in. Gotta love family.

Ask her again in six months, Barb. No joke, a neighbor had the same attitude after a hip replacement (it is a lot to go through for the patient and the caretaker at home). Six months later, she was so happy with the one, she went and had the other done. Her husband said she aims to play tennis again! She's 88.
