Default Got an Access Placard!
I barely made it - but we're going to Kennedy to see the launch of the shuttle next Friday 5/14. I got pass #421 out of 430 passes (via a lottery). So we'll see the launch from as close as you can get. STS-132, orbiter Atlantis. Last flight for this bird.

Only 3 missions left. This one, STS-133 in September, and STS-134 in November. I'm one of the mission managers for 133 so I gotta be in Houston and 134 will be impossible to get into because it's the last.

The pass says no more than 7 people per car. Well, me and my wife and our good friends in Florida John and Barbara so far...

I scanned the pass in - too big to post here and I'm lazy and haven't re-sized it but it's on my facebook thing.

Oh yeah - one of the rules is "no alcohol". I'm purging the window cleaner tank and lines in the car now so the Chardonnay will flow! With a press of a button!

That was one of the prettiest launches that I've seen. (wish I could have been there in person!)

So cool!

I was one of those kids who wanted to be an astronaut when I was little. Every time I've seen a shuttle launch, my inner geek gets all excited and wishes that I could have been an astronaut.
