Default I.V. Blood Draw Supplies
I found the butterfly's but anyone know where the tubes can be had?
I want to draw my own and spin it to visually see red/white/fat/plasma ratios.
I don't want to read red 4.xx and white 18 (high). I want to SEE it. My mechanical background.
I know I have muscle left on the table and want to see just how much of my blood is red/oxygen carrying.

But if you google it under shopping you can find individual ones for less that $5.

Thankyou legz. BD makes syringes I use for testosterone. 1ml size for insulin so i can very easily draw .5 of medicine. Can measure tenths.

Erin - read 2nd line initial post.

I figure a sander, buffer, grinder or even fan can be made to safely spin the tube. I haven't looked up diameter or rpm yet. I rebuilt my first car engine in 1987? Thanks now I feel old.

Here's a good calculator to figure radius/diameter + RPM = what test requies.
So that part's not too hard. Now to figure what tube to use for red/white/plasma/ect seperation.

If you intend to examine your blood under a microscope you'll get a better sample by using a 21 guage hypodermic needle, (or larger) when drawing the blood. Smaller bore needles will damage the red blood cells and give a distorted picture.

Thanks for tip on gauge size harming red cells. Im not interested in microscope (although now that you mentined it) Im interested in a visual on amount of red vs white vs plasma. Like the picture I took off my tv thats in my album here. If my red is a fraction of the white, that would surely hamper my ability to carry oxygen to brain no? and gain muscle.
So is 23gauge too small? I'd hate to use a 20! I like 25
