Aww, thank you for asking!
Jack is doing a bit better. its taking him longer to adjust to going back on the meds this time then it did last time. He has finally today showing that he may be around that corner. I will leave him on the meds for another week, and then cut back on one of them to a half dose everyday, and so on. its been a real struggle to find the balance here. He has been happily sunning himself today. he loves when the windows are open, and the AC is off. His litter box habits are starting to come back to a more normal size. I really want this to end. Thats the jack update.

quick kitty update. Thank you for all that have been asking.
Jack was reduced to a half dose of the bladder meds, every other day, and today...He peed out of place! He was in and out of my bed half the night, and this morn, it was clear he was stressed. I have plopped a full dose of bladder meds in him, and its just going to be a fact that this cat cannot do without the bladder medicine yet. He was in a great place when we started cutting back, and now in just a blink of an eye, he is back to timid, upset tummy, and seeking places to pee. *sigh* Will call the vet with his update later on.

Aw, Dej, I'm sorry Jack isn't feeling well. Poor little thing....he's just been through the wringer. And you, too! I know you don't want a repeat of what already happened with him. Maybe he just needs to be on a consistent dose of this med in order to stay comfortable. Can that be done? Is this something he can take all the time?
I hope everybody feels better soon.

spoke to the vet who said she doesnt mind jack staying on this med long term. She wouldnt want him on it for life, but wants him on it for a couple of months more before we try to back him off anymore. After the full dose this morn, it took a few hours, but jack seems much less stressed, and isnt racing to the box every 5 mins, squatting for 3 mins and only leaving dribbles. he even used the toilet!
He is now happily napping in the cardboard box daddy got for him, and then drapped a tent like blanket over the box for him. Anything for a new place to hide. i feel so badly that this cat simply cannot do without this medicine. He is so stressed when given the stuff, but he is so sick without it. thanks for all the kitty hugs. he appreciates them.

Had to take Jack to the vet. He was vomiting, panting, and seeking the litter box every 10 minutes. At the vet, they got urine and decided that he doesnt have an infection. He only had a couple of crystals. I have done a good job at keeping his urine acidic, and no mucous, so...it must be that his bladder is in spasm. There were several red cells indicating inflammation. While we were waiting for the results, Jack started screaming. I dont mean meowing loudly I mean SCREAMING as if a truck was parked on his tail. LOUD! Scared me! he wouldnt let you anywhere near him. Just stood there screaming. Then, ...he pooped. EVERYWHERE! he stopped screaming, and crawled into his carrier and went to sleep. I have never seen anything like it.
He will be on injectable pain meds and twice daily bladder meds for a couple of days, and then I will put him back on once a day meds. Today was just a horrible day. For him, for me, and for the vet. We cant figure out why we cant get him off this stuff. I told the vet that if he needed that huge surgery on his bladder, I would have no choice but to put him down. He has been so emotional and traumatized since his hospital stay, that I cannot and will not put him thru anymore. This poor little cat has been thru so much. Lets pray for some quiet rest for him for the next few days. He is miserable, and I am tired.

Jack has gotten dramatically worse over night. He is quite painful and not peed one drop, and that means he is completely blocked. I will be calling the vet to take him back in this morn, but DH and I both feel that he may not survive this one. We just dont think he has it in him to do a major surgery that is 2k! and no garuntee that it will fix his issues. It would mean many more hospital days, and many more meds, and we are just not sure we can continue to ask this cat to stay for us. So...I will probably have him put down today. He is so painful, and so sick. He is an awesome kitty, and I dont want him to keep having to live this way. I simply cant breathe to think of it. Pray for us as we stand on this crossroad.

know that our thoughts and prayers are with you at this time, Dej...it's one of the most difficult things I've ever had to do...
if it will put him out of his misery, then you know you'll be doing the right thing for your blessed baby...
