Default I get to celebrate the New Year with Surgery

Since my left leg is my bad/dead leg, I have been favoring it and using my right leg more. The last month or so I have been having pain in my right hip.

Last week I shot the tube, and this morning I got the diagnosis. The femur is rubbing bone on bone to the hip socket. SO, I get to meet with an orthopedic surgeon next week who will schedule a total hip replacement.

I'M 41 YEARS OLD!!!!!!

I talked to my parents about this and my mom said "It's gonna be ok, I have many friends who have had this...." I told her "Yeah, old ladies and old men! not my age". lol lol. (she laughed, not me).

Not only are my bones rubbing, the nerves are damaged and muscles and other anatomical structures are damaged too.

Chaulk it up to another reason I HATE MS!.

Sorry to rant, this just sucks.

And just like that, my wonderful Christmas Spirit is gone. (not totally) but it sure doesn't help.

Earl

Earl......I'm sorry for the pain you're having. We don't realize how much we use our hips for walking and balance until something goes wrong.

On a brighter note.....it's totally correctable and you'll be good as new in a few weeks! Yes, it'll be uncomfortable for a while but apparently you've been uncomfortable anyway with the pain so now you can have it fixed! Just think....by Spring you'll have it all behind you and feeling much better.

Yes, it stinks that MS causes us to have these ailments but at least we can have them corrected. And being 41 is a good thing! You'll bounce back much quicker!

I'd tell Laura to watch out for you after your healing process is done!

Default your surgery

Sorry you have to have the surgery. Maybe the new Year will be better and that this will help you. I do have a cousin that has MS with similar problems. I wish you all the very best, and peace for the new year. ginnie

Well poopy.

Don't let this ruin your holiday twinkle. It's just another MS bump in the road. You'll be happy you did it..

man that's beat earl! i am also having hip problems, but on my bad leg. i hope if you have to have the replacement it works out well. my mom had both hips replaced about 20 years ago and they helped her out after having back pain for years.
