Default celebrating lifes little miracles

My Moms surgery is now 3 weeks ago. She has had a catheter in since. So today was THE day it came out. She called this evening crying. She had gone potty twice!!!!!!! She has had to give up quite a bit of her dignity through this and is accepting a bedside commode. So this little 85 year old lady celebrated that she was able to go potty!!!! Her birthday is Saturday. Our usual thing we do is her, my sister and myself all go out to eat and the 2 not having the birthday pay. We top it off with a big piece of cocounut meriunge pie. So I guess my sis and I will take her some pie Saturday.

YAY!!! As someone who has to self cath almost everyday I know the excitement that comes with going potty by yourself. It is a great victory!

I always go over to my moms and cook her dinner for her birthday. DD always gets to decorate the cake before we go. Its one of those times where we get to have dinner together and everyone is happy.

OK, Mr. different point of view strikes again on this normally sensitive subject.

After my stroke and having a cath in for so long, I literally forgot it was no longer in and just let lose. The nurses had no sense of humor about it. Why? Because when I was cathed I could easily fill a bag three (3) times a day to capacity. At one point they thought I was going into diabetesincipitus. The uncontrollable loss of fluids via voiding.

For me, having a cath in was so convenient..........until they yanked that baby outa there.

I do admit that while appreciated it while recuperating from a C-section, I was glad when they pulled it out (a cath) after kids were born.Had it in like 5 days.
