Don't feel alone, snookie . Many of us have 'shower aversion syndrome' .

It's exhausting for us! Especially for women who have to blow dry our hair, shave our legs, etc.

I dread the shower sometimes more than any other part of the day. Not that I actually take a shower every day anymore .

Can you get shampoo WITH conditioner, to save one step? Would it be easier to wash your hair in the sink? Can you get somebody to do the hair lathering and rinsing for you? Do you have "too much" hair...in other words, would a shorter cut make it less of a struggle?

combo product don't work well. too much work in the sink. hair down to mid back after already cutting it (was down to butt). seriously thinking of shorter hair though. husband is against that for now. he ocassionally washes it but then i feel helpless, so used to being a big girl and doing for self.

What is it with men and long hair on women? The cave man thing?

I wonder what it would cost to go to a beauty salon and JUST get a shampoo and blow-dry? At least once in a while?

I use a shower chair, warm water and Pert conditioning shampoo.I have very little blond hair on my legs so never shave in the shower.

I have a little elec. shaver I used about once a month. Hot water is a no no, so don't take as many showers in the wintertime.

does the shaver do well on legs? when i've used a combo product my hair feels like ropes. it's only been like that since i colored it in dec. i'll give pert a try, thanks. do you think epsoms salt will help my muscles, i am soooo tight and sore right now. don't know quite how i'll get back out of the tub, that will be a sight to see. does lukewarm water rinse out your hair well?

I used to have hair down to my butt. (back in my 20s) By the time I got to my early 30s it was mid-back. Used to love to braid it, but for some reason my hands and arms would get tired and I'd screw up the braid. (didnt know I had MS at the time)

After I got diagnosed, I got it cut to just below the shoulders. I liked it, but it still took forever for it to dry. Last spring, my hair was about shoulder length again and I had a numb hand. So, i got it cut a little shorter, and the world didnt end for me.

For several months after that, I let the guy who cuts my hair do whatever he wanted to as long as it wasnt much shorter than what I finally had it. The last couple of months now, I've been too sleepy and tired to get into the shower some days. (personal record so far is 6 days....EWWWW!!!) I had it back to longer than my shoulders, but that's because the MS has seriously cut into my hair cutting time and I got shaggy and long again.

This afternoon, I got my hair cut a little shorter and now it's the perfect length that I can shower in 5 minutes and then get out and comb and dry my hair in about 10 minutes. It used to take me 3 hours back when I had hair to the butt. With my latest flare, I dont want to spend a zillion years dealing with my hair like I used to.

So much easier now to deal with my hair than it's been in awhile. Surprising that my long hair that I loved so much back then was pretty much the first thing I threw overboard after finding out about the MS.
