[Twinkletoes]

I read the instructions on the can of lacquer thinner. It DID say not to put near a flame source. It DIDn't say not to put it in a plastic container.

I waited a minute to see if the plastic container would work...it seemed to be okay. Put the paintbrushes in and took it in the garage b/c it stunk. Didn't want the animals to mess with it, so placed it on top of a nice, clean flat area that was about 5' up, which also happens to be our newly created mechanical/furnace area.

DUM ... TA DUMB DUMB!!!

I plead BRAIN FOG!!! (Read my other new thread).

DH came in 30 min. later holding the stinky, melted plastic container and told me that wasn't too smart. 20 min. after that he was hooking up electrical wires in our newly constructed guest bed/bath area and heard some crackling. He turned off the gas to the water heater and grabbed a nearby fire extinguisher to kill the flames.

We are blessed.
