Kids as well as adults like anything on a stick. What are you serving the adults? Could you modify that for the kids? If you are making steak, put steak on the stick, like Legz mentioned. We have steak sticks out here and everyone loves them. Plus, since they are not real little kids, they may appreciate having more grown up foods - depending on the kids themselves. Modifying it a bit will be less work for you. You want to save your energy to enjoy your guests.

Dipping is another thing that kids love. If they can dip it, they more than likely will eat it. You can give them difference "sauces" to dip stuff in.

Vic's burgers sound great too. Make sure they can have all the ingredients since they have lots of allergies.

You'll have to let us know what you decide. Have fun!!!!

No pickles?? Gasp. yes they are pickled cucumbers. You know I thought it was funny, I was watching some show when they introduced peanut butter to people in ... I want to say Malaysia? It was funny to me because it is something I have always considered the norm, I forget it is more of an American thing.

Well I guess we're even then because for me the shock/horror is that Americans don't love vegemite like we do. I could not imagine an Aussie not having a jar of Vegemite in their larder. We put it on our toast, make sandwiches with it adding cheese and lettuce or other stuff, we add it to our soups and casseroles...... but I digress.

Thank you for those ideas Tkrik. I had never thought of strips of steak threaded in a stick.

Hot dogs are another food that's not usually served here. You can buy them at shows and regatta type events, but we still have cocktail sausages (the little red ones) for children's birthday parties. Is that what you meant?

BTW Dej..... I forgot to ask you what corn dogs are. I'm guessing corn on the cob but are they served in a special way.

It's a hot dog wrapped in a corn meal batter and then deep fried. You can use the little red cocktail sausages and wrap them in already made dough and bake them. Here, we call them pigs in a blanket. Kids love those too.

Oh, you can also make grilled pizza. You can use a white sauce instead of tomato. Is the little one allergic to all dairy? Even goats cheese? If so, you can make the pizza but leave off the cheese or make it with fruit instead. Pizza is really good cooked on the grill.

Thank you tkrik. I'd never have thought a corn dog didn't contain corn, but I've heard of a pig in a blanket...... I just didn't know what they were.

Thank you all for your great suggestions. I can see this BBQ is going to be fun.
