I get that same trapped feeling too. I was able to deal with it yesterday because I have a tower fan in my bedroom, and we also have that heat pump-a/c unit on our glassed-in deck. When I felt too hot, I'd go stand in front of my fan, or sit on the deck in front of the a/c out there. Love that little air conditioner on the deck.

We just got back from taking my mom to the doctor. She's had a bad cough for about a week or two. Her allergies had picked up, and I guess all the snot she's been schnorking lately has settled in her lungs. She has asthma and apparently she's got bronchitis now. So, that explains why her breathing was a little iffy yesterday and the day before when it was hot in the house. (we're waiting for them to drop off a nebulizer this afternoon for the asthma)

Her asthma (and my dad's asthma) are a good reason to keep the air conditioning working!

We dont have any plant life around the heat pump outside, mostly because we had problems at our old house with the thing getting clogged. Weird that people like to hide their air conditioning units with plants, and it's plant life and grass clippings that clog the things up and keep them from working well. It'd be kind of hard to hide this heat pump. It's HUGE!

Ahh.. asthma, that explains it! My son has it and he has been known to go stick his head in the freezer to let the cold ease his breathing. He hates his inhaler because it makes him lightheaded to use it.

Our outside unit is huge.. it's almost a 4'x4' square, so yes, very hard to hide! Unfortunately, we may have to replace it before winter. So far out of 12 neighbors who had the same unit, 10 have cracked heat exchangers. Law requires they turn off the gas and have repairs made(new units usually). About time I guess, they are going on 12 years old.
