I have a really nice set of hard anodized cookware that I bought a while ago. They have been out in the storage shed for a year now but I wanted to pull them out and start using them again as they are much lighter and easier to clean than the stainless steel ones that I gave DBF when I got my new set. However, I am wondering if they will be ok as they have been out in the 100 degree heat for extended periods of time. I called the manufacturer only to be placed on hold for 1/2 hour . . .I hung up.
So, my question is, will they be safe to cook with? I think they are the nonstick kind (I can't remember). |

Most are good in the oven up to 450 degrees, so yup! I would use um. HArd Anodized is tough stuff. You can even use metal utensils on um. Go ahead, use um! Enjoy. I would.

I had one but I didn't take care of it properly - stored tomato sauce in it and it got rough & etched.

Thanks you guys! I think I would still be on hold with the manufacturer. DD19 is going to get them out of storage for me so that I can start using them again. I like them so much better than the ones I have been using.

Tricia, I took the plunge about 2 years ago and invested in a really good set of pots and pans. At the time I was wondering if I'd regret it but I never have. I use them all the time and they hold up beautifully. I cook alot and freeze things so I've gotten my money's worth. There are so many different kinds of cookware out there but the hard anodized kind are, I think, the best and most reliable.

Kelly - I love my anodized pots and pans. I miss using them and really want to get them out of storage. I too think they are more reliable and durable than most pots and pans. Mine are Kitchenaid and I just love them. They are easier for me to lift and clean. I bought the set like 4 or 5 years ago at Target. The only thing is once I get them out, I need to train DBF on how to care for them. I'm getting excited now to get them out. Now, if only DD19 would hurry home from work.
