Default who is your cable provider?

I have comcast and they STINK! I have been struggling for 3 years to get better/decent service. Finally after years of fighting I got the "make it right" team and they stink even more! after 3 years they wanted to give me $25 off my bill for my inconvience??? OMG I wanted to slap her! We have had supervisor after supervisor out here. It works great for 4 to 7 days and then...back to Stinko! I need to change.

Tell me about YOUR service provider. Do you hate them? love them? tips tricks? advice? ideas?

I don't have cable. However, someone on here once posted about At&T Uverse and really liked it. You can check to see if it is available in your area. I know they plan on expanding their "area" to make it available to more people. It's not available here yet. I think you can get phone, internet, and TV for $90 a month or something like that.

I have Charter. I got the "bundle" of phone, Internet and TV. It was the best deal at the time. It seems like alot because I have to pay all three together at once but broken down it's reasonable. I'd have to pay them anyway...might as well get a deal on all three. I tried not having the land line for a while but didn't like it. I only get 68 minutes a month on my cell phone and, when using it exclusively, they go fast!

I am looking at Fairpoint, which took over for Verizon in NH, VT and Maine. They are a troubled company who is constantly in hot water with customers, and with regulators, because they were horribly under prepared to take over this giant area, and they were quickly underwater, and over their heads. Their rep has cleaned up a bit since the state stood on top of them and demaded better.

I really wanted to salvage my relationship with Comcast, but 3 years of bad service on top of bad customer service is enough! I pay a great deal of money to have ALL the movie channels. I pay my bill each month before its due, whether i had bad service or good. I am very tired of tech after tech coming to my home and not finding the problem. The make it right team was insulting at best, and to be honest I am just so fed up.

My choices are

Fairpoint with a bundle (they are looking into whether or not they can do DSL on my street) and a bundle with DirecTV for cable. That cuts my bill by well over 50% almost 60 actually.

I can choose to keep the internet here which is a cable line but its $60 per month without anything bundled into it. and then use Fairpoint for phone/TV.

I can choose to keep my phone (which acts badly) thru the internet line, so its no better than magic jack or voip. or I can loose the phone and pick up a magic jack style system and save the money. I already picked up a phone line for my ipod touch thru Skype. I can video call, or voice call as long as I have internet, but it wont use a typical phone line, you would have to view it thru the computer screen or the hand held ipod.

Im upset with MS right now, because I am so easily confused, and lose track quickly of the details we just spoke of. I just want to watch TV! I just want to pick up the phone and have it work! I just want a reliable internet connection that I dont have to be held hostage over.

Those are the only two games in this town. Fairpoint bundle or Comacast bundle. If I can get DSL Im gonna switch. If I cant get DSL I dont know....im confuzzled now. I hate this! I just want my services to work! This is why we picked cable! so we dont have to worry about the signal going out, or dropped calls!

I have the 3way bundle with Cox. Around here most folks either love them or hate them. We also could have chosen Verizon FIOS but I have a thing about foreign call centers thus I stay with Cox

I can count the number of times my Dish Network signal has dropped out over the 13 years we have had them on the fingers of one hand. And yes that counts thunderstorms. If you go with Dish or Direct TV then you should be able to go with whoever you want for DSL. Might miss a few dollars in savings by not bundling, but the peace it brings might be cheaply bought that way.

I'm with Time Warner for Basic(no extras) Cable TV =78.00 - AT&T for phone and DSL= 42.00. Time warner stinks a lot and ATT has turned out to be very reliable.

I am going to get a total bundle comparrison costs from both TW an AT&T and see what they say. I want at least 2 yrs price guarantees. I'll let you know.

I live in a very small town, like 2000 people, they have a contract with GLW broadband to provide cable service to the residents here, it`s that or a dish. Neither is good option to me, cable without premium channels was costing me 62 bucks a month for around 60 channels, but I just cut it to bare bones cable last month, 20 or so channels for 20 bucks a month.

Money really wasn`t an issue, paying for stupid ( to me ) channels was. If they would let me pick 20 channels for 20 bucks a month? all would be good. I don`t need 2 or 3 shopping channels, 4-5 sports channels, a spanish language channel, lifetime, soap channel, political channels.

We have Cox Cable (Cox Communications? whatever they're calling themselves this week. I have another name for them, but I wont say it here)

They're usually pretty good, but since last fall, the service has kinda sucked. It was blipping in and out a lot over the winter. Finally this spring, they came out and put a temporary (bright orange) cable across my back yard, which really didnt fix the problem. That cable has been there since late March. They havent buried it yet.

It would be nice if they'd come out and bury the cable...the lawn mowing company is starting to get annoyed that they have to keep moving it when they mow.

I had a Tivo box connected to the cable box for awhile, and I canceled my Tivo service last month because the box was starting to die from whatever the cable had been doing to it. (the thing was about 6 or 7yrs old and we were getting tired of paying $13 a month for the tivo on top of cable) I went and got a Cox cable DVR last month. That's been pretty good, except that I cant use the HD channels that we're paying for because there's something wrong with the signal. I can start out watching the HD channel, but about a half hour, 45 mins into a show, the picture will go black.

I just wish Cox would figure out what's wrong and fix the problem so I can watch all the channels that we're paying for. They're great when it works, but it sucks when it doesnt. I'd rather have Cox cable than Dish network tho.
