Default Got in a fight

The simple of it all is the douche bag and his family park in the handiparking spot.

I watched closely, checked his plates and for a window tag....nothing.

I got so ****** off that I waited and waited for him to come out.

I asked why he was parked there and that I am handicapped. he told me "what's it to ya?" with a smoky, stained toungue then said the hurtful part... "You aint handicapped ***"

It's true I don't show my handicap and I don't even park in the handi zone! but man did that hurt.

He just doesn't see what I feel.

Anyways I told him it wasn't ****cool and all hell broke loose.... he came up to me yelling..... Cops pulled in..... it was a mess.

I just don't get it.....excuse my language, but what the **** is wrong with some people?

It's going to hurt bad when I REALLY need to park there, bu tright now I am holding off as long as possible....I'll leave that space for the real deserving people.

I'm so glad I'm a nice person....thanks mom.dad

hi eric,

there are people in this world that just don't empathize with others. they feel entitled. that's why i believe they take the handicapped spaces.
you can't change them.

so, it's best just to let it go into the universe. it won't do YOU any good to get upset, or get yourself into trouble over issues like that.

i've gotten more patient over time. it's effort that doesn't help me.

Did you at least smack him once?

Someday karma is going to get him, and hopefully Vishnu will symbolically smack him with all six hands.

People don't think a handicap can happen to them, hopefully he gets an idea of what he's been doing when he's got a problem and can't find someplace to park because some schmuck is parked in the last available handicap spot

Thank you Eric for fighting the good fight. Carpy (and Thankless) and against ignorant idiots. I do need the spaces. First alone when I had crutches, than a walker, now I can't drive but my husband parks in the ones with space marked off on side so we have room for wheelchair to roll up to my door. I like to roll up and look mournfully at idiots parked in the way when our paths cross. For me to get into my wheelchair I need the space. I'm obviously handicapped. Maybe I sometimes pull up behind their cars so they can't back out without running me and my chair over. DH gets in violators faces sometimes without me and I do fear some stupid idiot might someday hit him.
The other day a violator parked in a reserved spot right next to us. There were a million empty spaces around he could of used, but the SOB parked where he shouldn't. His family (wife, kids, baby) getting into car made it impossible for me to get in mine ( all those people and open doors). I sat in my chair and let them see what they had done. He and his wife apologized profusely. I said softly and sadly and fake bravely"Sniff, I'll be fine". His kids' faces showed they thought Dad was really being a jerk. Being a little aging woman in a chair, I don't argue, I just look sad and pathetic. That's my tool. As DD says "If you can't use the Handicapped card, what can you do?" Be careful Eric, there are mean ignorant idiots out there!

I hope the cops gave him a ticket for parking in the space and then I want you to remember my best life lesson. ready?

NEVER have a battle of wits with an unarmed man.

Clearly this man was unarmed, and a bully. Someday he will need that spot, and have to circle the city looking for one, because he will be too winded from lung disease, dragging his O2 tank from store to store while he complains about others taking up that space.

What goes round, comes round. its gonna hurt.

Im proud of you!

Amen.

Eric, I know how frustrating it is to see someone with such blatant disregard for the law and for those who are disabled. What Dej said is right......these people you can't reason with. They aren't equipped.

But.......and now I'm gonna sound like my mother..........getting into a physical altercation with a stranger is not worth it. If they're going to park in a handicap spot (and they aren't handicapped) they obviously have no regard for anyone but themselves. I'd be worried about what he might do to you. Just be careful, okay? He'll get his just rewards.

My sister has numerous handicaps and uses a hanicap license p;ate on both their cars. My brother in law sees nothing wrong at all in using a handicap space when he is out without my sis. He says he has a handicap plate so he can use it. I try to explain that if he were caught that SHE could lose the use of the plate. That didn't work so then I tried to reason with him. How wold he feel if his wife were out and really needed a handicap space and some one pulled into the last space illegally just like he did. He still doesn't get it.

I sympathize. I actually got into it over the July 4th weekend. The parking lot was filled except for one handicapped place at a public pool of sorts. I was getting out with my walker, DH has gone inside ahead of me after unloading my rollator.

She had two bicycles on her crossover. I stopped her. Her reasoning was that the parking attendant had given her permission and she was only going to be there long enough to pick up her son. (the son was probably waiting for mom to come before he even got out of the pool.)

Even with me standing there with a handicap device, she would not get back into her car. I completely lost it. She had the nerve to say, "god bless you." I told her god had nothing to do with it.

The spa people came out and she took off, did not stay nor move her car. The parking guy got in trouble maybe...too bad no police were called.

I truly feel sorry for people like this. How awful it must be to go through life thinking that you're "above" everyone else and the rules. I'm serious.....these people are lacking compassion.....and I would really hate to have to go through life like that. I'd rather have my life exactly like it is - MS and all - than to have such a cold, unsympathetic soul.
