Cyber-hugs, Debbie! We had both of my parents here, and my husband was going through medical issues at the same time. My dad was dying of emphysema, and my mother had heart disease and Alzheimer's.

Sometimes I'd get in the shower and sob until I could barely breathe, and say to God, "I can't do this anymore! I WON'T do this anymore! I don't want to do this anymore!"

Then I'd towel off and go do it some more. Because what else can you do?

I hope that an opportunity for a change or at least a break will knock on your door, and you won't be too exhausted to answer it.

102 with a heat index of 115. I am melting. Actually I am being attacked by thousands of tiny glass shard swords everytime I have to leave the house.

Hi everyone! I'm a newbie here and still waiting in limbo to be diagnosed with WHATEVER I have, whether it's myasthenia gravis or MS. My complaint is my workplace won't drop below 86 in this heatwave an it's majorly kicking my butt everyday! Also, I'm still waiting on my results from my bloodwork and MRI from this Monday. Eeeesh!
On a brighter note, I'm vertical and breathing, so life is good!

I'm annoyed that I've gone and bought two pairs of glasses in the last month and have had to return them both because the places I got them from have really crappy quality control.

But then, maybe I shouldnt buy the cheap glasses at WalMart and Costco?

Went to WM, and the lenses in those glasses, even with the non-reflective coating, the lenses were reflective. I could see people standing behind me in those glasses. Plus, they hurt my eyes. So, I returned those.

Went to Costco about a week or two ago and picked out what I thought was a really nice pair of glasses. They were the kind that you could bend and they'd go back to their shape. (Costco brand tho) Picked them up last week, and they made my eyes hurt. Couldnt see behind myself with them, but they made my eyes hurt. I tried to stick it out with those. Took them with me when I went on my weekend trip to see a baseball game. (good thing I took my old glasses with me) They made my eyes hurt so bad, I thought I was having a new attack of optic neuritis.

Went to the eye doctor today, they checked my prescription, and told me that the measurements were so off, it's no wonder it was hurting me. The measurements for the distance between my eyes was waaaaay off, and there was another measurement setting that was wrong. The curvature of the lens was wrong too. My eye doctor wrote specific instructions on my prescription for the measurements and for the shape of the lenses.

I went back to Costco tonight, and they were giving me the hairy eyeball on those specific instructions the doctor wrote, (they kept questioning why, and didnt understand how they screwed up on the distance between my eyes) and their attitudes on fixing them glasses were just not inspiring confidence in me. So, just as the guy was about to start writing up the order to have the glasses remade, I decided to just return them and get my money back. I think he was happy that he didnt have to try to figure out how to remake them according to the instructions.

I was hoping to not go broke buying new glasses, but now I'm just going to go to the optician at my ophthalmologist's office and buy my glasses there. I'm going to pay more for them, but at least they'll be made correctly and Tim the optician there wont be giving me crap about the specific instructions. (he's the one who wrote out those specific instructions)

It's just really really irritating that every time I try to get a pair of new glasses, I end up having to have them remade a couple of times before I get them made right.

also dont like that all the crap I've had to go thru just to get some glasses has made my eyes hurt. (eye doctor said that should go away in a day or two)

at least now I might get the red frames that I was looking at today at my eye doctor's office. If they look ok. Either that or something with sunglasses clips.

Here's my pity party . . .I'm falling apart. I fired my old PCP and got a new one. My new one listens and after my 1st visit he sent me off with some "homework" to do before my next appt - see gyn for well-woman check, see GI in follow up to gallstones, get blood tests done, and get chest x-ray to check bones in my ribs. Homework was rather simple, or so I thought.

I go to gyn this week and apparently I'm having some issues, which became VERY clear to me during my exam. So, I have a couple of ultrasounds to get done. I had them scheduled for today. But, I got a call from PCP and he wants to see me asap. For the most part, my blood work was normal. My WBC is elevated and blood in my urine again. With the joint inflammation and redness (random joints all over but not symmetrical) that I've been having, I had to get more blood work done as well as more homework.

They took several vials of blood and one test was a 2 part deal (to see if I have a bacterial blood infection). With all the blood taken, I was a little lightheaded and feeling odd. But made it through.

I left with a referral to a rheumy, a referral for a 48 hour heart monitor test, a referral to get checked for a possible blood clot in my leg, and a referral for something else I can't remember now. Needless to say, I missed my ultrasound. Hey, I had to set some priorities. So come Monday, I will get my chest x-ray, 2 ultrasounds, mammo, and a venous doppler all in one day.

It's been a rough few days. I sat back today and thought, how did everything come crashing down at once. It's a little overwhelming. But, then I thought more. It really didn't happen at once. I told old PCP about these things and she kept telling me it was stress. She had me believing that it was stress. But, stress doesn't cause red, inflamed joints. Stress doesn't cause gallstones. Stress doesn't cause the what ever is in my female parts. The complaints that I went in to her office with are the ones I still have (with the exception of the leg pain and heart palps). Only, my new dr. listened and checked things out. He checked my legs which were extremely weak (2/5). He looked at the joints and palpitated them and saw some of the swelling and didn't tell me, oh don't worry about it. He ordered blood tests and then ordered more based on the 1st set of tests. He recognizes that some really isn't right. Had my other PCP took the time to listen and not make a quick judgement that it was all stress, some of this would have been taken care months ago.

That's my pity party.

got over heated yesterday, so I am hiding in the house today. Got a new internet connected blu ray player that the UPS guy left propped against the steps at the kitchen door! Um excuse me, but that is EXPENSIVE! what if someone stole it? I was home, he never knocked, or rang the bell. He has a bad habit of doing that lately, and someday I am going to lose a package to this yahoo delivery guy. The old guy used to tear up and down this street, but at least he rang the bell before he ran off. Why not act like a paper boy and fling it on your way by? Wont that save time too?

Supposed to go out for pizza tonight with dumb and dumber from up the street (not the skunk killers) but these two wing dings are enough to make a nun drink. All they do is argue with each other on what a piece of Shet the other one is, and how much more they do for the house, car, boat, vacations or finances than the other one does. The wife steals from the husbands money when he hands over HALF of all the bills. Thats right they spilt ALL in half. She has a tiny income, and he has a huge income, and yet she is supposed to pay half of their $16k tax bill each year on just this one house! I told him If I was his wife, I wouldnt stay long enough to find my shoes. He said if he was married to me, he wouldnt give me shoes. So, nothing more relaxing than the arguement couple. They watch my cat when I need them to to check on the cat sitter who I worry about. They will run over and turn on our AC if we are stuck at the hospital. They pick up stuff for us at the store when they go out, but DANG! SHUT UP!

Ok, thats my daily gripe.

Spoke to my neice yesterday. She has been writing me about how many panic attacks she is having. She launched into a "I know we are not supposed to talk about Granny, but she is really pushing me to not talk to you anymore, and is saying horrible things about you." UGH! I told her that was fine, Granny can say whatever she wants. She wont hurt me anymore, but what concerned me was that she was getting such grief about keeping contact. I asked if she thought she should stop talking to me. She said NO! you are the only one that has ever been nice to me! Its because of you that I dont have to wear bras from the salvation army or panties from there. Its because of you that I got to go to college. its because of you I was able to get involved in some video games, and no, I love you and dont want to stop talking to you. Yesterday they told me how wonderful you were, and today they tell me that you are going to take advantage of me. Yesterday I was supposed to be grateful that you got so much undies for me, and today I am being told I think I am too good for salvation army panties. I felt so bad for this young woman, who is clearly lost, clearly dependant on these folks and has very little in her life. They have controlled every aspect of it all of her life, and now that I am such a bad person...you get the idea. I reminded her that she is a grown woman, living on her own, can make her own choices in this life, and someday would need to stand up for herself. She just sobbed. That made me angry that my mom would pick on a depressed woman, that is home bound, and has nothing in her life. My mom is a betch. short and simple. How low can they go?

My son called all upset that last november he was screwing around in the city park and it was late after he and sticky head had a fight, so he peeled out of the parking lot, and did a donut. Someone saw him, turned in his plate, and he was given a fine by the court to pay. Since he gives ALL his money to his g/f (sticky head) he "assumed" she was paying on this. Well, she wasnt, so he was hauled to court yesterday and asked for ALL the money now. He cried poverty and they gave him one year probation. AND court costs. He tried to show them his truck accident and cry about how he has no car, and what a horrible place he lives in ....he was shocked when the procecutor said "son, I dont care! PAY THE FINE! and then I will care" I had to have the "be a man" talk with him. He was reacting like a child, making excuses, blaming others, playing the victim. I told him that he DID do it! Yes, he did! so, stand up, accept your punishment. Probation transfers folks all the time. After we talked he was calmer and understood, but WOW! my child is still a boy. I was shocked by how immature he became, and how much he tried to push on others. I said "stop giving your money to folks who pay THEIR interest first!"

Husband still has a tummy ache, and this means the MD will want a CT scan of his tummy. THIS WEEK! We are supposed to be going away on Vacation this week!

leaving on a good note. Today is day 16 that Jack has not needed a shot. That is huge! im tired now, I want to go back to bed.

My pitty party isn't as big as most of yours but I am sitting on mine and that makes it big 'cause it is big!!! I have a different kind of psoriasis on my butt than the rest of my body and it makes me feel like I'm sitting on a bed sore. I don't want to have to go back to my dermatologist 'cause it costs so much on my insurance to see a specialist. My primary doctor said if I got the name he would prescibe any of it for me so I hope he can.
