Default I'm happiest in blue.

One time my daughter looked in my closet and said, "All your clothes are gray, black and blue--you need to get more color in your wardrobe."

I replied, "But...I LIKE gray, black and blue!"

I love other colors on other people, but when you get right down to it, I'm happiest wearing and surrounded by blue. I have some black clothes that I really like, but most of the time I'll dig under the other colors (what few there are) for the navy blue sweatshirt, the cobalt blue sweater, the pale blue nightgown.

I like all different shades of blue, depending on the item. My favorite outfit when I was working was black slacks, a black cardigan, and a light blue shirt/turtleneck.

When I wear brown or purple or red, I don't even really like looking down at myself, much less looking in a mirror. It's not an obsession--I DO wear other colors sometimes, I just don't like them as much.

Once in a while I see a room in a magazine that's all blue with white trim and I think, that's where I want to live! Not the whole house, of course, but I do gravitate toward blue/ivory bedding.

I wonder what a psychologist would say? I'm just glad I don't work at Target!

I love blue, too. My bedroom is decorated in blue. Well, blue and white. Most of my clothes are some shade of blue. I do wear other colors but the majority of my clothes are also some shade of blue.

I think my next favorite color would have to be yellow. Come to think of it I do have quite a few pieces of clothing in yellow, too.

My kitchen is blue with white trim, I would love it if I could convince my husband to paint the cabinets white as well. There are blue items throughout my house as well. My husbands favorite color is blue. But I read somewhere that blue tends to be more calming and has less tendency to make you hungry.

I love blue throughout my house, but as far as clothing black and pink tend to be my favorites.

Your Psych would say you are bruised and depressed..
I had a black dress with a red pleated kick pleat, so I guess I prefer back/red to black & blue.

I can only wear black with a bit of color, but I love black....Can't wear light gray at all. Dark brown is a better color for me, though, since I'm, or was, blond with green eyes. I do love colorful clothes in the summer, though!!

I have to say . . . I love blue too!!!! I gravitate towards blues and greens. But, as for clothes, I have this thing about white shirts. That's all I seem to wear - white shirts and blue pants/jeans. I did spruce it up once and bought other colored shirts at Target (they were on sale for something like $4.99). I do wear those but I still would rather have my white t-shirt and jeans on. That is what I am most comfortable in. Plus, if I am going out, I can accessorize with some colored beaded necklace or bracelet or something.

I love color and am all about color!

As for the home . . .we have one wall in our kitchen painted red. It's a blue red and is fantastic! I love it in the kitchen. We have it accented with black, red, and white paintings that I did. Since it is a blue red, it doesn't have the same affect on appetite as an orange red. Orange is the big appetite increaser. In the bedroom, I love softer blues as they are calming. One bathroom is masculine (DBF's bathroom) with browns and reds and the guest bathroom (my bathroom) is browns, pale green, and island blues. I love black and white as well. I want to redo my bathroom in black and white and just add pops of other colors. I saw a picture of one and really liked it.

Since I do paintings and such for the home, I try to keep up on color trends. Apparently, lavender is a hot trend coming up. I am not much for doing lavender in my house other than as a small pop of it, maybe. Gray is another hot color right now. I do like gray but more of a green/gray. There are some really pretty green/grays out there and they can definitely look nice in a home and be calming at the same time.

Yellow is said to energize but does have a negative effect as well. Yellow has to be used carefully and the hue needs to be just right. It is better to use yellow as your pop of color than to do a whole room in it or even an accent wall.

Green is great. I like more of the paler greens, blue greens, and gray greens. They just seem calming to me.

There is a lot to be said about color theory and color psychology. In one of my classes, we read a study that was done. They brought blind people in to different colored rooms and recorded their reactions (emotions and feelings). They could sense the calm of blues, or the energy of reds & yellows. It was pretty interesting.

BTW- When I do paintings, I have a really hard time with reds, oranges, and yellows. I just can't seem to get it right and get the colors to work right. Give me some neutrals, blues, greens, grays, even purple and I can get things to flow well. It's really weird.

They would have a heyday with me and my wardrobe and my clothing needs. Let's see - I wear cheap men's undershirts all the time. You know, the ones you get in a package at Target in the men's underwear section. I wear pj pants all day. Some days, like today, the hug is so bad I can't wear a bra. I wear flip flops all the time and in the winter it's only slip on shoes if I go out, slippers or socks if I'm staying in. Textures are so important to me. The texture of my clothes have to be smooth and soft. I can't even wear sweat pants as they bug me, but oddly, I can wear jeans without a problem - well, most jeans, some brands are "rougher" than others. I can't wear pantyhose at all!!! The feel of the skin on my legs touching each other causes all sorts of weird sensations so i can only wear pants and longer capris. And, nothing can be too fitted or I just have to tear it off. Um . . . and the list goes on.

So, I, and probably many of us here, would present such a challenge to them.

I've come to enjoy a variety of colors. Blue used to be my favorite, as a teenager. As I began to resemble my mother more in appearance as an adult, I noticed that I gravitated to greens and browns, which had been her favorite colors.

Perhaps we choose/prefer the colors that seem to look best on us.

Now, after losing almost 60 pounds in the past year, I don't care so much about color. (Acutally, I tend to wear a lot of greens, browns, blues and blacks). Mostly, I like size 8 clothes, instead of size 22's! :-)
