I know you have a TON of things going on right now. There are commercially available raw foods that you can order and have sent to you. I make my own raw meals for my 3 cats, but I've been at this for a while.

There is a bit of info on this site: www.felineinstincts.com . The owner will talk on the phone with you as well.

Good luck.
I just ordered enough stuff to make JAck and Lily food for one month, also got some salmon oil, and some salmon treats to entice him. I would love to hear more. I PMd you my email address. YES! I will try this. Jack is bar none the best cat I have ever owned. I am willing to leave no stone unturned.

Thanks!

All the expert opinions are in.

1. change him to a raw diet
2. switch his anti anxiety med
3. get him an outdoor play area
4. go to a holistic vet for suppliments

I ordered the holistic raw food package that you make at home.http://www.felineinstincts.com/Felin...ssstories.html

taking him to a holistic vet for new anti anxiety meds this afternoon. along with his exam. This guy was horrified that Jack has been allowed to remain on a diet that clearly isnt working for so long, and that no more interventions were done with this kitty other than to offer more narcotics. So, off we go at 2.

I called his God Father (dont laugh, my cats have god parents) who is going to come over and convert our deck into an outdoor Cat Patio.

So, I have a few appointments this morning, and then I am off to see Jacks holistic vet. He was very excited that I had already heard of the raw diet, but wanted to add more to it.

So, things may just be looking up for Jack the cat.

Default Hi Dej

This is great news! It is sure worth the effort to try anything to make him more comfortable! I couldn't be more happy that there is this hope, that he can be better. That is an answer to prayers. I hope it works for him, and that the outdoor play area improves his mood. WOW, yes HOPE! ginnie

This is such good news! Jack has been in my prayers every single day. I've never met him in person but feel like I know him. And I love him, too! Thank you for doing so much for this precious little guy. I know how you feel about him.....I feel the same about my own.

Here's a link to a website with designs for "catios". Lucky Jack! He's going to really enjoy his new area.

I know....right?! Did you happen to see the expressions on some of those cats faces? They looked totally happy with their safe places.

Default Hi Dej/my"tails" of kitty love

I liked it when you said Jack was the best cat you ever had. My scruffy was like that, he rode a motorcycle with me, plane, boat, train, and loved to hang outside the car with three feet out the window, with me holding on to his tail. He LOVED rides, go figure. I had him for 21 years, and litterly he was my constant companion. He trusted me so much, that he went down to the ocean to taste the sea, and dogs never distressed him, he knew I would defend him. Sometimes in life we get these kinds of friends, that cannot be replaced, this happened to me too with that love bond. I do have a new cat named Sammy, and he has helped me with my grief. He sleeps next to my shoulder at night, and I go to sleep with him purring in my ear.
Scruffy was leash trained, and we walked all over the neighbor hood together. He was more like a dog than a cat. He also went to all my Art shows, and walked around loose in the showroom. He would come back at my call. Some years, I had more christmas cards addressed to him from the art world, than I got for me for Christmas! I also did what you are doing, and went all out to keep him healthy and with me as long as possible. He allowed me to give him fluids for kidney disease for 2 years every sunday, quietly and calmly excepting the needle from my hand. We BEAT the kidney disease and had another 5 years together. Go all out as you are doing, and then when you do have to let go, you will know you did ALL you could. I have a feeling your Jack is special too Dej, and I do know what you are going through. ginnie

Jack the cat saw a holistic vet today. We were kinda freaked out while this guy waved his magic wand over our cat, played with a funny machine, talked to himself, and then placed Jack on a elcromagnetic bed, with a funny collar on him. Gave him a dose of Arnica, and kept waving his wand. We thought for sure this man had lost his mind.

He spoke of a vaccine that Jack got that started an auto immune response (I remember the horrible reaction he had to it) and then spoke of how early he was neutured. By the time we got jack in the carrier, he laid down on his side, and fell asleep! He came home, trotted out of the carrier and lily licked him like a baby. He laid out in the middle of the room. It was like seeing some of the old Jack come back! Maybe this hocus pocus man has something to offer after all.

Jack has now had a 2nd dose of arnica, and is still OUT of the armoire, and has even played a bit with Lily. I could cry to think of how much love he has missed out on because he has been so sick. We plan on following his plan and seeing where it takes us. He also advocated for the raw diet for ONE month, and if the cats hook onto it great, if not go back to our wellness food which we all loved so much.

So, a new adventure begins. The contractor is coming on Saturday (caturday) to give us an estimate on how much to make a catio enclosure on our deck. He said he can get as fancy or as basic as we like. Come spring, jack will have a place to hang out with water fountains and rye grass. Ah to be a cat in my house. What a life.

Default arnica for Jack?

What is arnica Dej? I am very curious. Have you ever heard of the laying on of hands? Maybe this is what the magic wand was all about. After all humans use rakke and the eastern medicines for a long time. Accue pressure was used on sammy for his last shot, and it didn't hurt for the injection. I hope it works....ginnie
