Default Melody comes tomorrow!

Well we go pick up our cat tomorrow! We have everything ready. Walmart has the lousiest selection of littler boxes. A couple of days after Adora dies we gave our daughter a completely unopened carton of litter for her to give to the rescue organization. Ironically it will go to the lady who is currently fostering our cat. She also took almost a full bag of food, but she will use it for her own cat.

Yes the litter boxes at WM are just plain and short. We used them for a while, but our 2 cats... lets just say they needed high sided boxes! We ended up using a rubbermaid tub.

Enjoy your new kitty. We still aren't ready to get another one yet. Kinda thinking we might get a small doggie.

have you seen those long under the bed storage bins? we use them as litter boxes. They have wheels at one end, so you can slide it out of where it is resting to clean behind it, or relocate it. Deep, and can wait a bit longer to be cleaned than the short square ones.

Im so happy for you I could squeel.

Just a suggestion. Ask what type of litter Melody is used to.

It is best to use what she is used to when getting used to her new home.

I use the deeper Rubbermaid totes, too. One of my kitties (Panda) is a very enthusiastic "digger" and she flings the litter all over the place.

I'd get a spare litter box at the same time. It's always good to have a back-up in addition to the one(s) you use daily.

Well she has been here a couple of hours and still wandering. But at least her tail is straight up in the air now and she does stop by for an occasional petting. I did get a pic of her sitting on the love seat. She looks like she needs some weight on her. They say she is a year old so maybe she has some siamese in her.

Oh, she is a tortie! (tortoise shell).. They can have unique
personalities.

I'd show her that you have some nice food treats in the house.

Maybe some chicken, or tuna for a first day? Cats love treats...
I think food is the royal way to show welcome.

She is lovely.
