If you have a wifi connection, you can use it to wander around on the internet. You can play games with it. Play music (speakers arent the greatest, but it works)

A lot of the apps that are for Android phones are available for the Kindle Fire. (Amazon has their own app store). The Kindle Fire is an Android based system.

A lot of what you can do on an iPad can be done on the Kindle Fire. Not everything, since the Fire doesnt have much room on it. (8gb memory in it, but 2 or 3gb of that is for the operating system)

Almost forgot! You can watch movies on it! If you have Amazon Prime, you can watch some things for free on the Fire. You can also use the Prime membership to watch stuff for free on your computer too. The Prime membership is cool. If I buy stuff from Amazon, if it's Prime eligible, I dont have to pay shipping, and the shipping doesnt take forever.

Not sure if they're still doing it, but when I got my Fire, I got a free trial membership of Amazon Prime for a month, which really came in handy for Christmas shopping, since I did everything online this year because I was having that really annoying flare that kept me from driving and from having the energy to go shopping. I figured the trial saved me tons of money on shipping and made it worth it to buy the membership. I love to online shop from Amazon. (about to go do that in a few minutes. I need a new cover for my cellphone)

I have wifi with my Kindel but, How do you play games on it? No games on mine. I just read books and only go online with it to go to Amazon for more books.

Is your Kindle the e-ink Kindle, or is it the Kindle Fire? (has a glass touch screen)

You can play some basic games, like solitaire, with the e-ink Kindle, but the few that I tried on my e-ink Kindles were kind of clunky and hard to play.

The Kindle Fire can play games like what you would see on the iPhone or an Android phone. (Kindle Fire is Android based) You can play things like Angry Birds or Words With Friends on the Kindle Fire.

I guess I'm behind the times, with the Kindel 3G.

there are a few 'personal assistants" apps for non ipad phones. The details on what it does and reviews on how well they work can be easily obtained from a google search of ratings/opinions. Just google the specific app name vs. siri to help narrow down the benefits/drawbacks. Many are free or inexpensive downloads
