We've been getting snow on /off the last couple of weeks, hardly any during "winter"!
It isn't really cold enough to stick on the roads for long but the snow is heavy/wet enough to bend /break tree & branches.

Eugene, OR got 7" inches yesterday and broke record for lasted snowfall on record for that area, last time was 1916 I think they said.

Seems like the climate is changing all across the country. Sitting here today with windows open listening to the birds doing their spring chirping. My spring flowers are blooming -- hyacinths, daffodils and tulips on the way. The flowering apple, dogwood, cherry trees are blooming and after one evening of showers, the grass turned green overnight. Sure hope it doesn't get cold and snow again but I won't hold my breath here in NE Pennsylvania.

We've got some snow in the forecast. Today was BEE-YOOTIFUL, sunny, breezy, low 60's. I'd like a month or two of that.

I like spring snow. It usually doesn't last (melts) and the temp doesn't have to be freezing for it to snow..

We're having some tornado warnings here tonight. I hope they all blow over without touching down. The only thing about spring I hate.

I want my Mommy..

Stay safe out there my Friends.

We were supposed to have rain today......waited all day for it and it never happened. I was hoping it would wash away some of the pollen. Oh, well.

Sally, I dislike Spring storms, too. Especially at night. Can't see what's coming!

In the Summer when it's oppressively hot I always cringe when we get thunderstorms because I don't want to power to go out. The A/C won't work then!

There are several varieties. Some with "frosted"foliage. The frosted ones are called Talent, and while they have bigger blooms they are not as vigorous as the others with green leaves.

This is a photo of the basic types. I do them in these pots and take up north to put on the rocky shore where most of the sun is. They tend to bloom more when the rocks reflect heat of the day. If on the dock, they don't bloom well in the containers.
They will tolerate cool temps but stop blooming.

This photo is from the first season I tried these. They are heavy feeders and like extra phosphate and will make more flowers if encouraged this way. Full sun, and they close up at night. I pinch off the dead blooms every few days or so. The blooms will last for a few days before wilting down. They do not grow tall, and are best close up and not across a yard. You can't really see them at a distance well. But they will survive cooler temps. in fall. Freezing weather kills them, however.

I like them, because they have a semi wildflower quality and don't mildew in moist weather (a problem upNorth), and can tolerate cooler days. I think they look best in containers. They love the rocks too where I put the containers. So I think their roots like the heat. I believe they come from desert type places in S. Africa.

.... Sorry Blessings

Thanks mrsD. I planted the green leafed variety but both plain and variegated flowers (like your's). I went outside an hour ago and took some photos for you to see, but it's overcast, and the flowers have almost finished, so they're not as good as they were earlier in the season.

I had hoped to improve the photo a bit to post, but I don't have a computer program at the moment to do that for me. I also had a good display of petunias, snapdragons, and pansies this year. Here's a photo of some of them.
