What does it mean to 'clear your cache'? Do I loose saved passwords, etc when I do that? I clear history daily.

When your internet is open and running....I have a little "gear" icon in the upper right of my screen.
Click on that and a drop down will appear.
Go to "internet options"
Then in the center of that page, you will see "browsing history"
Hit the "delete" button
That will open another screen and you can uncheck the box for "saved passwords" if you don't want to retype them all in later.
I usually delete everything, but I have all my passwords saved in a little black book in case I need to refer back to them.

You need to clear the cache every so often to speed up your browser (firefox, internet explorer etc...)

I just cleared all my cache this way...

Go to start and then hit search...in the search pop up type in cache and hit all files and folders. All your cache will line up and then you can highlight some or all and then right click and hit delete = all gone cache.

When you delete browsing history and cookies, you are not getting rid of cache..

When I do this I get 4 options

delete browsing
delete cookies
change temp internet files
clean up disc space

Okay, now after I read the instructions, it all depends on which browser you use. I use internet explorer.
Here is what it said: It is different for different browsers.

If you are running Internet Explorer, the process is a bit different. Start off by hitting Tools at the top of the screen. Use the drop down box until you find your Internet Options and click on that. This will bring up a small command box that you can use. There will be a button on there that says Delete Files. If you press this, it will confirm if you really want to delete your internet files. If you hit OK, the process is done.

KA I have IE and I do that too but that does not get rid of your computer files cache, only gets rid of your temp internet files and cookies.

My inst. above are to delete your computer files cache. It's a different file that also slows your computer.

I use Google Chrome. I went ahead and emptied my cache on my laptop. I'm not really sure if it helped that much. I did some.I don't use my PC that much but I guess it wouldn't hurt to do it there also.
