Default I've lasted almost 24 hrs...

But can take no more! The heat index is 115 at the cabin, with only fans to keep us cool. My cooling vest is not helping at all now, and the lake feels like a warm bath. I made it much much longer than I expected, but I have now hit a wall. Will try it again on Friday....it is supposed to Cool down into the high 80s by then. It was a good attempt though

I don't know how you made it THAT long!! I was barely functioning when we had 90 degrees for two days in a row. I was in tears. Bless you.

Yikes, when it's that hot outside, there is nothing to enjoy....not even a cool lake..

Next time take a block of ice to sit on in the lake and a window A/C with you.

try washing your hair, and going to sit outside. Get a fan and then spritz water thru it. you can set the hose to spritz and hook it up behind a fan that blows in your direction. if you cant do that, get a bucket of ice, and put the fan to blow across it.

know that its temporary and this too shall pass, but you must find a cool spot to escape to. I would be crying in the corner and no longer able to think.

Hang in there.

I sat with an icepack on my chest while in front of a fan and was able to take a quick nap, and that did help. My dad also had a sprinkler running out of the lake. I was able to handle it much longer than I thought. I got back to my condo last night and proceeded to take a cold shower and was in bed by 8pm. I just woke up, and am feeling so much better. I love the lake soo much and wish I could enjoy it like I used to.
the best part of the day was spending it with my family! It's nice that my parents still get along after being divorced for 29 years, and my step dad fits right in.
Still planning to try again in Friday...it is only an hour drive from where I live, so if it doesn't work I can come back again.

Yay, I'm back at the lake and it is BEAUTIFUL! Low 70s, sunny and very peaceful. So glad the weather turned around....I really need this for my soul
