It was 104 or 105 on my front porch yesterday...at like 10am. Our humidity was up, and the local news said the heat index felt like 110 - 112 depending on which one you believed.

Today tho, at 130 in the afternoon, it's 84 on my front porch. YAY!!!

Our a/c has been struggling to get the house to the temperature that we had the thermostat set for. (68. We like it cold) Yesterday it was 75 in the upstairs, but 71 in my basement where I live. Today it finally equalized upstairs and the thermostat temperature is the temperature upstairs (I turned it up one degree)

It's 67 in my basement tho...because it's a basement, and they're naturally cooler. I'm a bit cold, so it's a good thing that I crochet afghans and shawls, because I'm not touching the thermostat. If I get warm wearing one of my shawls, I just take it off.

Now that I've got this new AC system it seems I can set the thermostat at a higher setting and it still stays cool in the house. I turned it all the way to 75 yesterday because I was getting too cool! I had the ceiling fans all running, too, so I'm sure that helps keep the temps down.

That's why we have ceiling fans in every bedroom and in our living room. The ceiling fans help cool the rooms and the a/c doesnt have to work as hard.

We are at 97 here.. Supposed to change tomorrow.

Both of us are wrecks.... no central A/C here, as we haven't needed it before! Old home with no central ducts... I only have
a small portable A/c in the bedroom. It is not enough.

The cats are in the basement.

Here's how to adjust your ceiling fan spin direction for optimal cooling & heating (in winter).

It is ten minutes to eight and I just saw Doydie's weather thingy again. 103 degrees!! What??!! And here I thought Georgia was a hot state. It's 80 here. I might have to get my flannel jammies out.

Supposed to be in the 50's tonight, 40's the next two or three nights. On an average summer, we have maybe 8-10 days tops when I don't think I can stand it. I can't even imagine living where it's like that for months.

Did somebody turn the world upside down? Maybe it really is flat? It's warmer in the North than it is in the South. I'm moving in with Blessings and her DH!!
