...hopefully see the Northern Lights! There's a chance they will be visible in east central Iowa. This is on my Bucket List!
(wish we had a *fingers crossed* smilie)

IT WAS CLOUDY!! We haven't had a cloud in a week. It's still cloudy.
That's ok, there will be more chances. I'll take the cold front that caused the clouds! It is 770, on the way to 86. Doydie, I've been on many a hot air balloon ride. Incredible - I hope you get the opportunity!

Closest opportunity I have had is a tethered ride. I refuse to spend the amount of money for a tethered hot air balloon!

A tethered ride would be like sitting in a NASCAR racer with the engine off.

Oh my! The NOAA Space Weather Prediction website says another viewing is possible tonight. Fingers are crossed for clear skies. There were very scattered showers about this afternoon; we actually got a sprinkle.
Wish me luck!

Clear skies but no lights. At least, I don't think there were any Northern Lights. I did see a pale greenish glow on the northern horizon. I've seen that before and I'm not sure if it's a city's glow or what exactly. What I'm hoping for is a definitive sighting! No more "Well, I think, maybe I saw them".
The sun is in an active period. Maybe the flares (solar flares!) will get stronger before they dissipate.
