Default This pain is almost unbearable

I had gotten over this pain on the right side of my face Two days after I started the antibioitcs the pain was gone. I finished them up yesterday. This afternoon it started up again and much, much worse. When my TN was first diagnosed it was on my both sides of my face so I don't know what it is or not. So tomorrow I will call the doctor again. My MIL has a doctors appointment tomorrow morning. It was scheduled for last week and she was confused and wouldn't let them do it. It is for her anemia. so tomorrow we wil meet her there. So that has to be figured into my appointment time since my husband can't seem to interact with his mother unless Iam there.

One busy day today. It started out at a 10:45 appointment with MIL for her iron infusion. DH is now POA and had to sing for it and we stayed with her for the 90 minutes it took. Then we went home for about an hour and went to my appointment. So back to the other side of town! My pain is mostly right above my right eye, along my eyebrow. She felt at the base of my skull and I jumped to the ceiling, very tender on the right side. She thinks it is a tension headache and is treated by a cortisone injection. But she wanted to make sure there wasn't anything actually going on in the brain. So back to another side of town for a CAT scan. It was negative. We were close to one of our favorite pizza places and had an early supper. I will call the doctor again tomorrow to see what he wants to do about these tension headaches.

I am so so tired of this headache. I think the TN is getting better but I still have the dazed, droopy feeling form my system getting used to the increase dose of the Tegretol. I called the office today to ask the Nurse Practitioner some questions like does excessive computer or Nook use cause an increase. I read my Nook at night and I have the brightness turned down way low to preserve the battery. What kind of pain medicine is the best, Aleve, Advil or what. I try to stay away from Tylenol and I refuse to be my sister and live on pain medicine and brag about it. She just goes on and on. So my Lortab use is very sparing much to the frustration of my husband. Can we schedule this nerve injection. These were all questions I wanted answered. I wasn't asking her to call back, just ask her the questions and some one call me back. That shouldn't be such a big deal. I know the office closes at 4:30 so at 4 I call and remind them I haven't gotten a call. I also give them my cell phone number because if my husband doesn't get to Texas Roadhouse by 5 PM on a Thursday evening, I have just ruined his weekend. So of course no call. When I get home I have a message on my home phone for me to call them tomorrow to give me the answers and discuss my cat scan. HMMMM. I thought the cat scan was negative. So I will call tomorrow, again. I want this to be taken care of so I can look forward to a painless weekend.

Awww Doydie, I'm so sorry you're going through that headache pain. It sure wears you down after awhile. I hope you get some "good" answers and relief soon. As far as the pain meds., guess it's a personal choice, but I find that Aleve helps take the edge off my pain and you only take two a day. Feel better soon....

I'm so sorry that you're going through this Doydie. I had one isolated episode of TN some time ago so I know how awful it can be. I do hope it passes soon for you, never to return. Thinking of you and sending healing vibes.

Well she is calling a script in for pain med. I imagine it will be Ibuprofen 800mg. I told her I was taking 2 Aleve twice a day now. Yes, I know it's to much. I have an appointment on Monday for the nerve injection. It better work. They are going to have to think of plan B if it doesn't.
