Default Medicaid and savings

My mother in law is in a nursing home and we recently got a statement of how much is in her own account there. I have looked and looked on the internet as to how much she is allowed to have as assets and can't find it. Mediciad.gov gives me nothing! We thought it was $1500. Does the state you live in matter. She is in Indiana. We have tried calling the business office and get a recording. I know we can wait until Monday and call again but I thought maybe I can get an answer before then. Thanks

I used an elder law attorney to get my mom on Medicade. Not sure if the laws vary state to state. Was well worth his fee

She is already on Medicaid, has been for years. My question is, we got a statement form the business office stating how much money is in her personal account. We think it is to much over the limit that is allowed by Medicaid. They do a good job of keeping track of how much the residents hove in their accounts and generally help them give out checks to family if they are getting to much money. But we think she is over what we thought was the limit before. She is getting more forgetful and a little confused so my husband is now her POA. We called the business office and they haven't returned his call

We found the answer. Here in Indiana it si $1500. The letter that she got that got her all upset was just her end of month statement. It had not had the next months nursing home bill taken out of it yet. So now we know that each month to just tell her to hold tight. They know what they are doing.
