When does Daylight Saving Time/Standard Time begin? {USA}

Daylight Saving Time begins each year at 2 a.m. on the second Sunday of March. Move clocks ahead one hour at the start of Daylight Saving Time.

Standard Time begins each year at 2 a.m. on the first Sunday of November. Move your clocks back one hour at the resumption of Standard Time. Daylight Saving time and Time zones are regulated by the U.S. Department of Transportation, not by NIST.

In 2008, Daylight Saving Time begins on March 9 and ends on Nov.2.

In 2009, Daylight Saving Time begins on March 8 and ends on Nov.1.

I may be standing alone here, but I love DST! It stays lighter an hr longer.

Sorry about your time change Anne.... Hope your Winter isn't a fraction as nasty and hard as ours was.

Ick. Lose an hour. I need all the sleep I can get, LOL

Seriously, I like seeing the daylight for longer periods of time. Wakes me up a little.

I used to hate DST when I worked and the Kids were little. It meant they stayed up an hour later..

There really is no reason for us to observe DST....We will have long days no matter what. I hate losing the hour....I like it when we "Fall Back" again in the Fall and go back to regular time!!

Koala, that is something....You all fall back now and head into winter. Mother Nature is something else! For me it's weird to think about Christmas in the summer....as a hot time of year...Thinking of Decmeber as a warm month, rather than a hot month....oh! It's so confusing!! Then July is is when your country would see snow.....I just can't make it work in my head LOL!!!

Default We stay the same all year!

We don't do the time changes here in Arizona and I don't miss it a bit.

Only thing is; before I call family and friends in Iowa, Illinois and Ohio I have to add or subtract an hour.....

I usually just e-mail; much easier and I don't have to think!

They are talking about ending DST!!! Wouldn't that be something? And yes, it did start getting earlier in the month of March a couple of years ago
