My oldest grand daughter has asked grandma to get her a razor for Christmas. Her Mom suggests electric since it might be less nicks. any suggestions? I have olny had one electric razor a long time ago and I wouldn't recomend it to anyone. I'm clue less here!

I'm blonde and don't grow much hair on legs, so only shave in summer, when needed. I just use daisy shavers. I never liked electric.

What is that new one out now that's not really shaving...its sort of electrolosis. Sounds good to me. The "no cut/something or other"?

Are you talking about the No!No! that they keep advertising on TV? I looked up the reviews on it and most of them were bad.

Since it's just me now shaving has become a "whenever I feel like it" thing and I have to say........it's nice!

My dd hated electric and went quickly onto the Venus Breeze. She's never had a bad cut and is a swimmer, so shaves EVERYTHING.

I'm not going to get her one of the ones that semi-permanatley removes hair for about a month. 1- they are to expensive, 2- the hurt!

Give her "Older Woman" advice. If using a non-electric Venus type razor use moisture (in shower or tub, using a Shaving creme (I liked gel like Softique) They start so early nowadays. DD's friend taught her, we never discussed and apparently she never had problems with it.

Related/unrelated. She swears by Diva Cup for menstrual flow. It is reusable (green) unlike tampons. We don't discuss this (kid is 20), Mom just pays to buy one

Thanks for the tampon advice. I don't know why bit both my girls hated tampons. They both wear pads! I hope they take after Grandma and go the modern way

any Venus or Quattro razor. IMO-get a razor with tilting head (not fixed) as that helps too. If going for shaving creme I would suggest a sensitive skin version of Skintimates Gel. Works really well on easily inflamed skin, helps avoid any nicks.

Regardless, I would offer to teach her 'how' to shave without bleeding like a stuck pig - having a razor and knowing how/where to shave are 2 different things . I shudder to think of my first time when I sneaked into bathroom to for 1st time- I still have scars...

I don't have to shave my legs now due to good 'ole CMT. They are smooth as a baby's bottom. Wish I did have to shave cause then I wouldn't have that following me around (meaning CMT).

Years ago I used an electric razor but that didn't do such a good job at the time so I used a regular cheaper kind of razor like a Daisy or whatever most of the time. I had to shave every day regardless. My hair was brunette and really showed on my legs and elsewhere and I had plenty of it. This was back in the day when I was working in an office and we always dressed up to the hilt with nylons, high heels, dresses, earrings, and hair done really right. Fortunately I had naturally wavy hair so not a problem. Remember, this was back in the day.

forgot to add: mens Quattro razor blade cartridges are cheaper and fit the women's Quattro razor handles (tho only difference is the color of the strip and number of cartridges you get men vs. women). Seems for pink or pale purple we pay more for less product!!! rrrrr
