Yikes-she diddled and now has to deal with this crisis. How many docs don't understand thyroid disease? It's scary... Prayers for this beautiful woman-this is a serious disease...

Unless I am mistaken I don't think this is likely to be debilitating or fatal. Hopefully she will get treatment and be fine.

She waited before having more tests after her doc found something suspicious-8 months later, after her friend told her about her own experience with thyroid cancer that she was dealing with, Brooke finally went to get further testing and found out it indeed was cancerous. She posted somewhere how stupid she was to wait and that now she will have a pretty big scar across the base of her neck.

The thyroid is a ductless endocrine gland...and thus cancer cells can be sloughed off directly into the bloodstream. I'm sure that they caught it early enough, and that she will be fine, but IMHO you don't mess around with ductless glands.
