Default What is the best/healthiest sugar substitute?

Stevia? Nuvia? Trivia?

I don't think there is any. Regular sugar in moderation. I hardly use any sugar at all. JMO Works for me.

I use stevia. The only time I use it is in my coffee. Not sure how it would work in things that are baked. I order it from Amazon and a container of it lasts months and months.

I agree with Kitt. Anything in moderation probably won't hurt you.

Are you saying none of them are healthy, or taste good, in your opinion?

The problem is, or I should say one of the problems is, that my BF doesn't believe in moderation. I'm trying to teach him and he gets it on some things but uses 3 big spoons of sugar in his big cup of coffee. And often has 2, sometimes 3 cups in the morning.

He's on Chantix to quit smoking and he mentions he is concerned about gaining weight like some people do. I'm doing what I can to help; plus I could lose a few pounds myself. Haven't been exercising like I used to.

Just realized my spelling was atrocious in the thread title! Being a good speller is one the things I plan to hang on to as long as possible.

IMHO, no they do not taste good. If you want sugar have the real thing only in moderation just like everything else. And it's JMO. Two or three big spoons of sugar in your boyfriend's coffee is way too much IMO. But, he would have to want to use less. Weight gain won't happen with the real thing if it's in moderation. IMO. I want the real thing.

You can always use your search engine and see what is said about these products.

I never noticed it till you said something! Isn't it funny how we can read something and not even notice it's spelled wrong until someone points it out.

How big is his big cup?
double a regular or larger?

DH has a big 2x & 3x cup so more sugar in his than mine - but I do like mine sweet..
We use the real thing, but do have stevia in the cupboard..
Have used agave nectar once in awhile.

I think other things such as junk foods, large portions and unhealthy fats are more problematic than sugar.
