Thinking about you Jane and hoping all went well with your surgery. Let us know, when you are able to do so (drunk or not)

Keeping you in my prayers..

jane here- home, surgeon found a disaster but fixed it all. Shoulder hurts but dilaudid makes me not givw a da**. I have some machine called an Iceman--I LOVE the Iceman!! It will get you so cold and numbed up and makes life happy happy again. But, my husband and sis call it my leash as I am tethered to it and need them to disocnnect me so I can go potty.

Home PT is ordered. No weightbearing or certain moveents for 6-10weeks miniimum; means no crutches. I hate that! I have this massive brace/sling thing that comes intoa room before I do. Uncomfortable and ugly but it holds arm where doc wants it till nail anchor thingies get solidly in bone.

All in all, surgery was easy for me since they knocked me out and doped me up on narcotics. Now the fun begins. Dont like taking pain pills as they make me loopy and sleep for hours (my husbnad said he loves it when I take one LOL). Finally got a bath, can take a shower in 2 days.

DH washed my long hair in kitchen sink. We now have clean floors, counters, breakfast bar, cat etc. Water was everywhere and he used about 1/2 bottle each of shampoo and conditioner. Yikes. We are now calling him "Mr. Meee-Shelll" since he does hair haha

Getting tired so am headed off for a nap. hanks for all the good lucks and well wishes, will try to checkin in a few days. Please excuse the mistakes as my brain is a bit off and typing with left hand stinks.

Jane, How are you doing? Getting better, I hope. I hope your Family and Close Friends make this a nice Holiday Season for you.

getting better more and more each day. Just re-read my post surgery entry- made me laugh out loud - I imagine I read/sounded like I was drunk

I am ahead of schedule ability-wise in PT. See MD tom AM. Hope I can loose the sling/brace contraption. I have really grown to hate that black monstrosity! Can't do a lot, but have learned to do many things left handed. If you want a good laugh, try making toast or a sandwich with your non-dominant hand only. I chase the bread all around the counter until I get it wedged against a corner

Seems like the last month has dragged and flown by - all at the same time. While I don't recommend shoulder surgery, it is a doable thing if you need it. Just keep looking forward and enjoy the break from household chores (no dishes, vaccuming, tub scrubbing, etc).

Think the surgeon will give me a permanent "No household duties for life" script????
