My poor hubby was on his way to the station to respond to a motor vehicle accident (MVA) and he rolled his ankle and heard something pop. So the Chief is now driving him to the ER, he didn't even get to respond to the MVA (there were plenty of others to go) and he is in a lot of pain!
![]() Sorry guys, just venting, it's 3:30 am and my hubby is probably just now getting to the ER, it's 45 minutes away. I can't be with him because we have the kids, and I couldn't drive him because I can't drive anymore. Can't help but worry about him. No matter how hard I try not to. |

Oh no
![]() Sure hope that it is just a bad sprain. Really feel for you...not being able to be with him...and not knowing. This is definitely the place to vent and share concerns ![]() ![]() Sounds like hubby is in good hands. Praying that everything goes smoothly for him at ER and returns to normal with him and at home ASAP ![]() Please let us know how both he and you are doing. With love, Erika |

Hope your hubby just has a sprain. If it doesn't resolve, please get MRI. I failed to do that, and wound up with three torn tendons, never healing correctly, for years of painful walking. Hope he gets lots of rest and has the very best doctor. An Xray did not show the damage to my ankle. Take good care of him....ginnie

I hope he's home by now and resting comfortably.
It's awful when you know someone you love is in pain and you can't be there (physically) with them. I hope you both are feeling better this morning. ![]()

Many times a sprain is worse than a break. And it can take longer to heal. Hope it turns out O.K.

It's not broken, but they told him if it's not better in a couple days he needs to go see his pcp. They put it in an air splint, but he can't bear weight on it and there is a spot that looks like there is a half of a softball under his skin. It's a good thing we had crutches here from the last time he hurt this ankle. He did do damage to the tendons last time, I can't remember how we found that out, but I don't think they did an MRI. But the ankle never did heal properly. He got home at 5:11 this morning. He's teaching a class today for the fire department, he's using the kids and me as tools for that. Just vitals on all of us, and getting patient history from me (feel sorry for that poor sap) ![]() |

My foot was black - really black and swelled and didn't look like a foot. Lots of deep tissue damage. Kept it wrapped, etc. Kept in touch with Urgent Care and I was doing everything they said. No weight bearing on it. Used the old lift and go walker to keep weight off of it as much as possible. Cannot use crutches. It took a good six weeks before I threw the walker and used a cane and an arm. Then many more weeks of that. However, after that episode I never was the same again. Never the same probably partly because of CMT That's not why I fell though.
This was one of those sprains that you cannot get up from to even hobble around. It was awful. I hope I never have that again.
