Default Yoga??

Ok, so I got these 2 dvd's in the mail from the MSAA or something, and one was yoga and the other was exercises, think its called MS Active. Anyway, I tried the yoga and oh my goodness, on the second, yes SECOND move, I fell over! They've got you with your hands on the ground standing on your toes with one leg in the air. Im like SERIOUSLY?!?!?! Feels more like a game of twister! I moved on to the exercise dvd.... MUCH better. All exercises are done in a chair with alot of arm and leg movement. I wanted to try something to help with my strength issues and thought, seeing as I have no insurance and PT is impossible for me right now, why not try these dvd's. I also have a stationary bike I try to get on when I can too. What do you do for exercise?

My exercises consists of stretching and the PT & OT I learned in
my hospital stay. They,so far are doing the job of keeping me
strong and limberer and stronger.

It's a simple case of use it or lose it. Just simple leg swings and
lifts, Arms swings and lifts, hand and finger manipulations. All
done whilst lying on my back on my sofa.

I had Yoga videos too...gave them to DD.
The chair exercises are great.

Good luck.

I think that it is important not to push the body too hard with any form of exercise. Best to go slow and then wait to see how the body reacts. Sometimes everything goes just fine afterwards, but then again there are times when the backlash isn't worth it.

I have been doing yoga for over 30 years; but have had to customize some of the poses in that time in order to accommodate my body's changing "uniqueness", as well as to avoid some nasty backlash reactions. For instance, most poses that involve a head low position are out of the question for me; as they lead to dizziness, loss of balance and neck spasms.

A cross country ski machine is relied upon for cardio and to exercise the legs and arms when I don't get enough outdoor walking, yard work etc.

With love, Erika

I haven't tried yoga and like Erika mentioned I'm concerned that hanging my head down will make me dizzy, or maybe I should say more dizzy.

I'm fortunate at this point to be able to continue doing spin classes, using the elliptical machine and jogging a few times a week.

and by 'helped' I mean I am in the video doing some of the poses.

She got a grant from the Betaseron Champions of Courage to make the video.

Thinking about it now brings back fond and fun memories!!
