Default I'm freaking out

I know what a cardioversion is. I know that they are going to hook him up to a defibrilator and zap his heart. That freaks me out. I was a cardiac nurse so I know that his heart will stop temporalarily stop, even for a nano second so it hopefully will start again in a regualr beat. They may have to do several shocks. I want to be in there and hold his hand even though I know he will be sound asleep and wont't know I was there or not. I know how he feels when he feels vulnerable and that's what he will be.

Doydie, this is a good thing to flip him into a normal sinus rhythm. Usually done w sedation.

You can't hold his hand- remember, "Clear"?

Say a prayer and be there when he comes out of RR.

Best to you both,
ANN

Ann I had to laugh at your 'clear'. I think you were referring to clear that I can't be there and 'clear' to make sure every one is away from the bed when they give the shock. But there was no need for it. He is still fine and more than likely home tomorrow!
