I once attended a BIG display at the Cotton Bowl stadium in Dallas. There was music playing stadium-wide before the show, the theme from Monty Python's Flying Circus. Obviously the crowd knew the tune because at the appropriate moment, everyone said PBPBBPTTTTT! It was hilarious!

We didn't go downtown tonight. They started to have a Shriner's Fest this week so lots of people were already there all day and had staked out seats. It's such a mess to find a parking space and walk and then risk the chance of standing for the fireworks. We have one of the local schools right across the street from us and it is a very popular place for families to do their own fireworks because of the big parking lot. But there are a lot of ball fields that could catch on fire also. We have never had a problem but there is always a first time for those unsupervised kids. So we have a lot of fireworks to watch from our front yard. I have had this big headache all day and haven't felt like doing much anyway. We are supposed to travel tomorrow to see oldest daughter and family. It's only a 3 hour trip but my husband has a lot of road rage. He is quiet if he thinks I am asleep so as soon as we turn onto the interstate that's what I do. Going through Louisville, Ky can be trying at times so I try to stay 'asleep' until we get on the other side.

went to the oceanfront last night - had a really good time. Good orchestra playing on the beach, accompanyed by nice chorale group. Topped it off with the fireworks show. Whole lot of fun, a bazillion people and a ton of traffic (as everybody else had the same plans as us )

got home about 11pm - talk about dog tired... Dreamed of firework display last night
