I am about 35 miles southwest of Cleveland, it was snowing and blowing all day yesterday. We ended up with between 7-9 inches of snow, sort of hard to tell with the way the wind was blowing it around.

I had my driveway plowed this morning, the first time I have had to call the plow guy in two years. Perhaps another round of snow for Sunday?

On the bright side? No Mosquitoes! :D

We have another winter storm warning, plastered on our TV screens,
from now through Sunday. Don't know what's coming, but I don't think
I'm going to like it much!

Sleeper, I live near Dayton and it's bad enough. I know you have it a bit
worse in and around Cleveland. This all just makes me feel so helpless.
I hate that feeling..

Stay safe everyone please..:grouphug:

According to the weatherman our low temp for Monday is -6. I'm a little northeast of Atlanta so the weather forecast for Atlanta we usually have to subtract about 10 degrees from whatever their high is.

How can you tell if you're 0 or -6? I mean, other than the thermometer? I worry so about my outside kitties. I wish I could bring them all in. I wish I had the stamina to handle the bunch of them (and the $$) because I just feel so guilty sitting here in a warm house while they are shivering outside. :(

speaking of bugs.....

In the summer down here, we have mosquitoes the size of sanitation trucks!
Love to see the outbreak of dragon flies, as they help control the population of those darn bugs....I use something like the old time "Punk" to keep them away during season. Also up north you don't have the "large" type of roaches that most of Florida gets....so there is some good advantages to living up north! Doesn't get cold enough usually to kill off some of those critters. Maybe with the cold this year, springtime won't be as buggie. ginnie:hug:

Ginnie, my Mom used to call those huge bugs "Palmetto" bugs. Whatever they are......they're huge and I don't like them!!

SallyC 01-04-2014 01:02 PM

The nat'l weather serv still has a warning of 8 to 12 inches of snow for SW
Ohio, but, our local station is calling for a mix of rain & snow, with temps
in the high 30s.. So I don't know what to expect?? The temps will go
down to -2 again on Monday!!

OK Barb, what's the weather doing in your back yard?:D

ginnie 01-04-2014 01:24 PM

Hi Kitty

Yep that is what they are called, and those bugs are huge!!!!!!! I have to get sprayed once in awhile down here. Mostly in the spring. Hate them! ginnie

Barb says that the already have 5 inches of snow and I'm still waiting.
Hopefully it will never come. Let you know.:D

barb02 01-05-2014 02:14 PM

We are probably up to about 8 inches of the white stuff. It is hard to tell. The wind is really picking up and we have blizzard conditions now. Snowplow drivers are having trouble seeing. I hope they just wait until tomorrow to plow my driveway.

sally, the storm track I have seen looks like it is moving northeast and just the Toledo area will see the worst of it.

Our wind chill tonight is supposed to be around -50. This time of year when I get in bed both kitties have my spot warmed. :D I just have to slide them around a bit to get under the covers but then they curl right up to me. It can be challenging to get comfy sometimes. :)
