I get nervous that the power will go out. I keep a flashlight with me just in case. I have a hard enough time getting around in the light of day.....don't need a surprise blackout, too!

It was comforting to see the extended forecast and see a 60 degree day next weekend. :) Heatwave!!

WOW, what is happening to the world???? I'm glad it is nice and warm here in the internet and we can talk. What did we do without the internet??? I slept the day away. I was really tired when everyone left yesterday but I always try to make it until bedtime to got o bed. So I woke up about 6:15 this evening. 16 and 1/2 hours. I always keep a bottle of water at my bedisede to take a drink when I get up to go the the potty. Knowing what the temperature might do, and the electricity, I also put two extra quilts in my room. Glad I didn't need them. Electricity has stayed on. I sure was shaky when I woke up though. I don't know how I can not get hungry when I am sleeping like that. So I ate a good protein rich supper, then my regular evening snack later and my bedtime mini meal. I am under my calories for the day of course but I am doing OK. You can't eat 1300 calories in just 6 hours.

It looks like some of you folks in the USA are in for another couple of days of the cold.

Holding you all in warm thoughts, hope and prayer that your power stays on and that you all remain safe.

Kitty, an alternative to a hand held flashilight is a headlamp. It is a light that is mounted on a light weight head band that fits on the head. That arrangement allows hands to be free, while it illuminates what is in front of you.
I have one of those and also a ball cap that has an LED light with three brightness settings. Both of those come in handy when walking outside in the dark. It is dark here until 8:30 AM and gets dark again by 4:00PM in the depth of winter. They are also great for when the power goes out because they keep my hands free, which allows me to use my cane and to use my hands (when those things are working ).

Most sporting goods stores carry them for around the price of a good flash light.
