I'm sure that a scooter will be much easier than a rooster any day.

That was my first thought when I read the thread title Sally! I was thinking "I know they make scooters that go really fast now, but I don't really think you could fly in them..."

Default Scooter wouldn't work after landing in FLA!!! ugh

I had to 'push' my scooter to the baggage claim, then to the car in the parking lot! My scooter still wouldn't work once I put it back together when I got to the house, so I had to open up a 'claim' on the damage. The airline sent over a technician to fix it right away, but he discovered that it needs a new motor so he had to leave me a loner scooter while he orders the parts in.
I'm glad they have been so helpful, however now I need to get some massage therapy for my back for having to push my scooter all over the airport. Why didn't I ask for help with that??

Sorry that you had bad luck with the scooter flying business, but at least they are doing the repairs and gave you a loaner. Sometimes, the airlines can get sticky or are slow to respond to claims.

Why didn't you ask for help with that?
Probably like most of us, we treasure our independance...and hind sight is 20/20 .

How's your the rest of your trip?

With love, Erika

Besides for the 'hiccup' with the scooter & the dumb thing I did to my back because I am so stubborn, this trip has been wonderful! I feel so lucky to have the opportunity to 'flee' the cold tundra of Minnesota and land in the beauty of Fort Myers Beach. Just being able to feel the warm sun on my face makes everything so much better! I am looking forward to 'scoot' around the island until the 26th when I fly back home. Me & mom scooted to the grocery store today (mom drove while sitting on my lap) and we giggled the whole way at the funny reactions we got from those who saw us...it was great fun!

I have been home since the 26th and had the most wonderful time! It was very easy to travel with the scooter and everyone at the airport/airline were wonderful. Obviously I was having 'fears of the unknown' . Thank you for the tips jprinz99 & erika
