Default I love gadgets!

I just gave my first generation iPad Mini away to my dad.

But, it's ok because my shiny new (white/silver) iPad Mini with Retina Display and 64 more gigabytes will be here in the morning. (as long as nothing happens to the Fedex truck that it's on)

My dad bought me the new iPad for my birthday. I think he was trying to cheer me up, and find something to distract me again from all the MS crap that keeps happening. Not sure if it'll totally cheer me up, because things have been bad and worse lately. But at least I'll have more space for tv shows and books, and music.

I also think he just wanted my iPad Mini. I just set it up for him. He's upstairs all excited to play with it because I also gave him a brand new cover for it for Father's Day. (this worked out well. I didn't have to go buy him anything for Father's day. I've had that cover since Christmas. We thought we were buying new Mini's for both of us then, until he'd changed his mind about it.)

I think it's cool that I was able to hand my old iMini to my dad. I think he needed a new/used gadget too. He'll probably like taking the iMini with him to read when he has to wait for me at PT or doctor's appointments. Especially if he's close enough to connect to the free wifi that some of the places have from the parking lots.

I really liked giving him the ipad last night. He knew he was getting it. He thought he was getting one of my old covers for it tho. So he was really happy to get a brand new cover with it.

Hope he's having fun with it. I haven't gone upstairs yet today to ask him.

It's here.

While I wait for mine to load all my fun stuff to it, I'll be working on fixing up my dad's Mini so that he can read his emails. Then set up his Kindle app, and get his solitaire games all set up.

Then he'll have it all ready for Father's day.

I don't know what I would do without my gadgets. I love my iPad mini. It is the smaller GB but that's OK, I don't think I do as much on mine as you do on yours. If I need to watch a TV program or movie I do it on my laptop or desktop. I did recently find out how to access my favorite game on facebook though. I had sworn that I was not taking my laptop with me on vacation jsut so that I could not do this game. Now I know how to do it on the iPad and so I don't know how good my resolve is now to avoid it on vacation. Our rental house doesn't have free wifi but I am going ot make my phone a hotspot. My SIL has this device also that I can hook up to but on our last vacation it sure didn't work very well. Maybe it is strong enough it only works with his laptop. But if it doesn't work for me that much I will be satisfied. My oldest also has the iPad mini and the youngest has a Samsung tablet. Those two are strapped enough for money that those are the only way they are on the internet except for their phones.

After the kids go to bed, the adults usually puts on a movie that I'm not always interested in so I figure I can play my game then. I also have my Nook color but hardly get it out anymore. It is easier for me to download my books on the Nook than on the computer itself so I need to make sure I get several new ones downloaded and then actually do the download on my iPad so that I can read them there. I have 2 grandaughters so it is nice to give one the Nook and the other the iPad for them to play games on them.

What in the world did we ever do without these gadgets.

I would be very bored, and without something to read while waiting for my dad to pick me up at appointments if I didn't have my iPad Mini.

I couldn't sleep last night (again). I'd had a cortisone shot in my left shoulder for shoulder pain the other day. So the past two nights, I've been a bit insomniac from that. Plus, the MS is causing me another issue that seems to want me to stay near bathrooms. So, my iPad tends to follow me around during all that. (yeah, probably shouldn't take the iPad near the potty, but it's so boring in there when the MS is bugging me like that)
