Doydie, I'm glad that you have your house and some peace and quiet back but sorry that one of the youngsters is sick. Such a worry these days.

Debbie, yes the Baclofen wearing off and the return of spasms does get me up around then too, if not before. It seems that the body being in the same position for more than of couple of hours sets things off, no matter what.
I used to write but it is slow going for me now so don't do that much. Meditation and doing stretching exercises seems to settle things.

With love, Erika

Took my tree down and shoved it into the spare bdrm/playrm for now.
Just couldn't look at it anymore... I'm all cheered out and spent out
for the year. Next...........Easter!!!

Winter is here with a bang! Looks like a typical January for Ohio, with
temps in the single digits and lots of snow.. If you really need me. I'll
be on my couch w/lap top, hugging my bankie.

I wish 2015 to be the best year ever, for us all.

Found out that the little one they thought had pertussis has bronchitis. But for a 3 week old that is serious. Her two siblings were coughing a lot also.

My other nephew who also has 3 kids 3 and under was here with his 3 kids but not his girlfriend/soon to be wife. She said she had the flu and was throwing up. When he got home he found out that she only claimed to have the flu so that she could have the apartment to herself and 'a friend'. She has a long history of cheating and my nephew 'breaks up' with her but they want to remain co-parents to the children so they still live together only one of them sleep on the couch. So much for breaking up??

He has matured in his adult years but in his teen years which are on his juvenile record he has several arrests for attempting to cut his parents, he has bipolar and obsessive defiant disorder and some drug use. The moment his first child was born he became a changed man. So his adult record is good. But he needs to get sole custody of his children and get her out of their lives. But he doesn't have a good juvie record. I just hope it remains closed

Happy New Year everyone!

I returned to Texas on Saturday, and have been trying to recover from over two weeks of being away from my own bed. Flying was a nightmare both going to Ohio and flying back. Delayed flights (hours), canceled flights, re booking and having to stand in line for 90 minutes to do so on a plane that turned out to be overbooked, mechanical problems, crowded planes, grouchy people both working for the airlines and flying ...

Our usual 35 minute drive to the airport in Pittsburgh turned into a two hour and forty five minute scare due to black ice, lots of accidents, a fatality ...

I am just happy to be back in Austin. It is sunny and 63 degrees right now, but a cold front is supposed to come through tomorrow and freezing rain is in the forecast for later in the week.

For sure, travel over the holiday season can be nasty, especially for those of us with health considerations. Glad that you're back home and can recover in your own bed .

With love, Erika

Morning everyone...bitter cold has arrived...but also the sun

Barb, sorry you had such a horrific travel day. Glad you're in relatively nice weather now...

The construction on our flooded house has begun...ugh. Lots of banging, taking tile up, dust, etc. Poor pooch is stressed out and relegated to the family room. I am going to go have a gentle workout and a much-needed shower (only the powder room is workable at home right now).

Tomorrow I drive to pick up my 2 granddaughters to care for them for 2 days. I'm going to spend the days at DS & DIL's house...there is no way the kids would be able to handle this noise. Heck, it's giving me a nasty headache and spasms from the stress of the noise.

I hope that the work will be completed by the end of the month. After the construction is finished, we will get new carpeting installed and the walls on most of the rooms will be repainted.
The insurance company is paying for a cleanup crew to come in and deep clean everything, including the ductwork. We also will have to have the oak kitchen floor fixed and varnished, since some of the boards warped from the water on them.
Then we can begin the Great Purge before staging the house and putting it on the market. We think we may wait until everything begins to bloom in April. It's always so wonderful to walk up to the house with the flowering crab and lilac bushes in bloom
We still have a host of items to pick out for the new house. And the cabin knock down and rebuild has begun...there is simply too much going on. No wonder I have a headache:roll eyes:

Stay warm and safe, dear friends....

Wow & Uggg ((((((Debbie)))))). Which reminds me.

I have filed a claim with my INS Co, for any possible water damage in my base-
ment ....full clothes baskets, some furniture, floor tiles, washer, dryer, wall panels,
some dry wall, mold prevention...etc...And after listening to your horror story, I'm
not looking forward to it.

I hope yours gets done fast and to your satisfaction..

Love to all..

Hi Everyone!

Barb - I'm sure you are glad to be home. Traveling during the holiday season is awful! I personally have never flown during the holiday season but many friends and family members have. It is not something that I would look forward to. I'm glad you had a good and safe trip though.

Debbie - Yikes!!!!! You have a lot of construction type stuff going on between the house you're living in now, the new house to be built, and the cabin. That's enough to make anyone stressed out. Take care of yourself!

Sally - I hope your construction project goes well and you have lots of nice hunks there to accomplish it.

Doydie - That is so sad about your nephew. I will say some prayers for him. I'm also sorry to hear about the 3 week old getting sick. I hope the baby is doing better and will keep him/her in my prayers.

I haven't been up to too much. DD23 came over yesterday and I watched the baby while she went to get her haircut. She donated her hair to Locks for Love. The stylist wasn't very good at all and instead of 10 inches being cut off she cut 14. Then she did a poor job on DD's hair. I felt so bad for her and I told her that even though the cut was free due to her donating her hair, she should still call the place and complain as the stylist was not good. She kept cutting more off as she couldn't get DD23's hair even. That is a bad sign. It's now just above her shoulders and the length is fine but stylist didn't really cut the hair in any sort of style and definitely not the one DD showed her. She basically got a straight cut with some texturing in the front. Since DD has thick hair, straight cuts don't work right and it doesn't lay right. She did call and complain today but the manager of the salon was busy so she talked to the manager of cosmetics who said the manager of the salon will call her back. She got it cut at Ulta.

The baby is getting so big. He had his 1 month check up on Monday. He's put on weight and the dr said she can now feed him on demand as opposed to sticking to a strick every 2 hour schedule. He still is a little jaundice and had to go for bloodwork to see where his bilirubin is at this point.

I went with DD23 to the lab as I had a list of tests to get done (27 in total). They took 13 tubes of blood. I was surprised they didn't have to stick me twice. The last few tubes were slow going though. I see the rheumatologist in a few weeks to go over the results.

I hope you all have a nice evening and are staying warm!

Evening everyone...only 9 more weeks until spring

Trish--yikes so many tubes!! drink to replenish your blood volume (water, not the hard stuff)
Glad grandbaby is gaining weight. Your DD should go get her hair redone somewhere...shame on that stylist It was so nice of her to donate her hair...
Sal, hope the insurance co cooperates with you. Our insurance co has been great.

Well...what a time we've had...I took care of the two grand babies for 2 days. I took them over to DS34's house during the day and then brought them home to sleep. DGD who is 23 months old got another cold...and was whiny. DGD who is 10 wks old did much better than at Christmas time after they discovered she suffers from GERD...she is on Zantac, which greatly helps her.

But when they both started crying/being needy at the same time and DH wasn't around to help, my poor addled brain couldn't handle it. I got so stressed out I was crying, which made DGD 1 cry, and then DGD 2 cried...

I decided I definitely can't take care of them without help... Not sure if MS interferes with my ability to handle it all, or if I'm just too old. But in any case, it makes me sad and scared to have them for any length of time...

Then, on late Sunday, DS39 & DIL gave birth to Annabelle, our 5th grand baby in 23 months...mom and baby are doing well...she is a big baby--8 lbs 14 oz and 20.9" long.

Our construction is moving...plumber and electrician did their work. Now we are ready for everything to be constructed. We hope it will be complete by mid-February...We are down to a powder room for bathroom privileges. DH & I go to the fitness center to shower:roll eyes: I can't wait to have it all finished. Then we have to purge to get ready to put this house on the market in the spring. Sheesh...

Well, hope everyone is doing well...stay warm and safe, everyone
