Awesome Sally! Glad you got some eye candy to do the work too .

Finally a flea free home!!! Been telling my DH for years to spray eucalyptus oil around the house... Naturally was ignored as he bought cans of raid and other such nonsense, but he finally listened to me, it's been 2 weeks and not a flea in sight!! Not to mention the house smells so nice and fresh, with a slight lemony-minty scent.

Now if only there was something similar to get rid of spiders... I don't especially mind them, but do take exception to sharing my pillow with black widows. (Lovely wake up call this morning, let me tell you, though the beauty didn't bite or anything, just scooped her up and tossed her out the window). I also dislike cleaning up their webs.

I know the eucalyptus is like nerve gas to the fleas, I don't mind killing them, but would much rather find a deterrent for the spiders rather than a poison. They're just too pretty and good for keeping down on other pests to kill them. Why can't they be content with my garden rather than my bedroom though

Morning all

Erika--glad you caught your error...maybe it was wishful thinking and not preztellization (or however you spelled it)...

Sal, glad your redo is getting going!!

DH finished digging out from SuperBowl blizzard--19". It was absolutely beautiful yesterday morning when we opened the blinds and looked out at the sparking snow on all of the trees (had to clear a few off--our birch's branches were bent to the ground). It was our first snow over 3" this season.

The master bathroom is almost complete. The tiler made a wonderful hatch door for the motor area of the tub. Now he's on to the floor, then grout work will begin on that room. After that he has the new small bathroom to do which doesn't have much work left. I hope to have a functioning bathroom by Valentine's Day...

How wonderful for those that are getting new spaces or new faces on some existing ones.
I shoveled out the closets and drawers in my place and got rid of anything that I hadn't used in the last year. Lots of donations went to good causes and I'm happier with less stuff hanging around.

We've had snow for the last few days so there is over 2 feet on the ground now. We had nearly three feet earlier in January but got a warm spell that brought it down quite a bit. Then came this whollop. More to come in the next few days, then it should warm up again for a while. Warming up in these parts means that it might just inch above freezing.
I'm pretty much done with winter now, thanks .

With love, Erika

Starznight, black widows in your pillow?????? Ye gads. I would have freaked out. fleas are so difficult to kill. I didn't know that eucalyptus oil took care of that.

Thumbs up

Hi everyone. I'm still here......just been busier than a Grandma with MS and twin grandbabies!!

My son and DIL stayed with me last week with the babies because she needed help at night and DS had to get his sleep to be able to get up and go to work the next day. They really weren't difficult babies.....it's just when two are up at the same time they tend to be a little demanding! She's trying to get them on alternating schedules but even that has it's drawbacks. When is Mom supposed to get any sleep?!

I thoroughly enjoyed them being here and we all managed to have a really good time together despite the sleep deprivation! We even got so tired at one point that everything made us laugh!

Hope everyone is doing well. It's Winter I know and the NE has really taken a beating. Spring will be here soon....I hope.....and soon after that we can all fret about the heat!!

The attached picture is of Evelyn and I just love the expression on her chubby little face!

Gosh, Kel, she is adorable!! What a wonderful expression!

Erika, that's a LOT of snow!! Hope Mother Nature is kinder to your area from here on out...

Going to get bitterly cold here now, so this white stuff will stick around for awhile. Oh well, it IS winter
