Hi Everyone!

It's a nice day out today. I have an aide that comes and helps me. This morning we went for a walk. It was so beautiful out this morning. My legs and balance weren't cooperating so it was a short walk. I should have taken my walker as I can walk faster and have better endurance when I use it. Anyhow, it was about 60 degrees, sunny, and a light breeze. Perfect!!!!

I am in the process of reorganizing my house. It's a lot of work but I will be so nice to have it done and everything in a more practical place/arrangement. It's chaos as I only have so much energy and some days I don't work on it at all. I want to get it done soon though. I have a kitchen table that I want to paint, little kids chairs to paint for my grandson as well as an end table that is perfect for the chairs, furniture that needs to be moved and rearranged (DD24, DD26, and SIL will be doing that), etc. I just don't have the energy lately to do it all. Eventually, it will all get done. Well, it needs to get done within the next month as a friend of mine is giving me an antique twin bed to use in my spare room/office for my grandson. So, all this rearranging has to get done by then. That bed is what started it all.

I hope you all have a great day!

My fish tank is starting to make me feel like a Luvs commercial....

With their first set of fry... it's all oooohhh and awwww protect the babies!!....

By their 12th set of fry, it's rock, paper scissors to see whose turn it is to get the net.

Seriously, rather than all the euphisms about bunnies, it needs to be guppies. I honestly think when I turned off their light last night I heard Barry White coming from the tank.

Hi Everyone!

Starz - Well aren't you the lucky one! It's hard when fish reproduce because you really don't know what to do with all the baby fish. *sigh*

It's hot outside!!! I am so sad by this hot weather. I don't think we'll be getting another cooling break until the fall. UGH! Thank goodness for a/c. I don't think I could survive without it.

I went with DD24 to a furniture store this weekend. She is moving in to her first place the beginning of July. She got a great deal on a nice couch. She picked a light color but paid extra to have some lifetime cleaning thing. I think with a toddler the extra money she spent on it was well worth it. They give you a cleaning/stain remover kit and will come clean the couch if the stain won't come out. If they can't remove the stain then they replace the cushions. They also come once a year and clean the whole couch. It only cost $100 extra. So in total, it all cost around $450 I think. She's both excited and nervous about moving. I think it will be good for her and my grandson. We also went to a few other stores as she literally has to buy everything other than bedroom furniture. Bargain hunting is a lot of work! I was worn out. Of course, my grandson is now walking and is not content sitting in the cart. That adds to the work. DD24 went out again the next day but I stayed with the baby. She was able to accomplish so much more and more quickly as well.

I hope you all have a great day!

It's hot here, too. 90+ degrees this whole week. I am hibernating inside with the A/C. If I get too chilly I go out into the garage and three seconds later I'm ready to come back inside!

No rain is in the forecast but it clouded up this afternoon and looked like it might storm. It didn't and we really do need the rain.

Has anybody heard from Barb? I keep hearing about the terrible flooding in Houston and she just moved there! I hope she's okay.

Barb, check in if you can!!

Hi Everyone! High 90's here. I had a rheumatologist appt. today. I had not left home since Saturday. It is horribly hot, even too hot to go to the pool. It may be November or December before we see any relief now.

Bargain shopping for a new apartment sounds fun!!!! Yard sales are stopping up about now. Of course yard sales have no air conditioning. I don't know how good she or you are in DIY stuff but pinterest can give you so many ideas of what you can do with an old window frame, pallet, rake, coat hanger, the list is endless.

Same here! November or December before the heat breaks. Of course, the mornings and evenings will cool down before then. The mornings are in the 60s now.

Doydie - I love looking at Pinterest. It's so full of ideas. It's now getting to be too hot for yard sales. We're going to have to do thrifting. She has asked me to do some artwork for her and I told her I can pant any furniture we find that she wants. I love DIY projects. Once this flare up of whatever connective tissue disease I have is over, I'll be more motivated and less fatigued to do stuff. (I'm tired despite being wired up from the steroids. It's such a weird feeling. I'd rather do 3 days of 1 g of IV steroids than 40 mg of oral with a taper of 5 mg per week. )

Oh No, my board buddies! I think I am going to melt. If you don't hear from me by Monday or Tuesday, I have melted. It's supposed to be over 110 this weekend!!!!! I'm so hoping my a/c doesn't freeze up and stop working. It's an old a/c and last summer I had trouble with it. They fixed it last year so I am hopeful that this summer will go much better. Unfortunately, I have to go out this weekend too. I guess I better put a water bottle in the freezer now to take with me. With that kind of heat, just going from the car to the store can be brutal.

I had a doctor's appointment yesterday. Afterward, I was able to visit with my mom. I enjoyed that as I don't get to see her that often. It's a good 40 to 45 minute drive to her house and one of my Dr. Ologist's office is near her house. I can't get there on my own as the traffic and fatigue would get to me. I just can't cognitively deal with a whole lot of traffic. It's been this way for a while now. Anyhow, we had lunch at her house and visited. I'm so glad we were able to do that.

Hope you all have a great evening!

Our weather was unseasonally good today, in the high 70's. I love yard sales to it's just that when I get to one, I can't see anything I want. If my Mom or sister was at the same yard sale they we would leave with a full car. I don't know how we can be at the same place and not see the same things.

I am used to drinking a lot of ice water, about 10 glasses a day. But Charlie is used to drinking soft drinks and with his ulcerative colitis got used to drinking a lot of chocolate milk because he said it would help him to get rid of all the gas pockets and finally have a huge diarrhea stool and get rid of the pain. So now after his surgery they are telling him he needs to drink 2 liters of fluid a day, preferably water. Soda will give him gas which will take up a lot of space in his stomach and small intestine which is all he has left. So he is trying. Our fridge is old and the ice maker is bi-polar. I hope that does not offend anyone by using that terminology. Most of the time it is in it's depressive state only making about a glass full of ice a day. But then it gets in its manic state filling the bin in a couple of hours and at times it has overflowed. So we keep the old fashioned ice trays. Well the two trays we have was enough for me but not for Charlie's needs now so I guess I had better go empty the trays in the bin and refill them.

Our surgeon called us today just to check on us. Also the pathology report is negative!!!! The poor guy is getting cabin fever and wanted to go to Denny's tonight for their $4 biscuit and gravy meal. I had gone out to the pharmacy for refills, new meds, etc and was gone for 2 hours. He got hungry and fixed up one of his creations. He takes a can of brine salmon, mixes in some Miracle Whip, puts in on a plate with a piece of cheese and microwaves it. But the salmon was leftover from before his surgery. I had meant to throw it away when it came time to put our trash out and forgot. He leaves it in the tin can it comes in and covers it up with aluminum foil. Stinks and I can't imagine what that tin can does to that salmon after those days.

Hi Everyone!

Doydie - That is great news! I'm so glad the pathology report was negative. It will take Charlie some time to adjust to eating differently as well as having to keep his fluid intake up to avoid dehydration. I think on the UOAA (??) site there is a list of foods that are ok for ostomates and foods to avoid. Some foods have caused people to have blockages and end up back in the hospital. It's kind of trial and error. Drinking fluids is so important especially with now that summer is here (or almost here). It is really, really easy for people with ileostomies to get dehydrated. I'm surprised they said 2 liters a day. You may want to double check that with the surgeon.

I haven't melted yet! Yeah! It's hot though. Yesterday morning, DD24 picked me up early in the morning to go to the store. We were home by around 10:30/11:00 a.m. She ran out to do some of her own shopping and I stayed with my grandson and rested while he napped. I did not want to venture out in to the heat. This morning it was over 80 degrees by 6 this morning. Yuck!!!

I hope you all have a great day!
