It's sad to say that I already have quite a collection of children's books, even before I had grandbabies to read them to. I love the illustrations in many of them, especially the Peter Rabbit books... gosh I love them. Beatrix Potter is my hero!

But we did recently add to the collection, hit up our local Habitat for Humanity which sells books of all sorts for a measly 10 cents! I can't let the DH know or I'll be banned from going there, as it is I can't go to the library when our Friends of the Library is having their book fairs. I brought home a whole truck bed worth of books that they were planning on throwing away!!!

Okay granted a few of them still found their way into the recycling bins, but let's just say we would have 2 spare bedrooms if one of them wasn't housing all my books (well not even all of them, there's still some in the living room, the computer room, the guest bedroom in case any guests are in the mood for a good book, the kitchen and not cookbooks, the storage room the ones that don't fit in the 3rd bedroom, and naturally in my own bedroom.) To make things worse, I've actually read all the books too, and have finished reading most all of the free books on Project Gutenberg's site that are in English, German, French and even one that was in Japanese.

But with the grandbabies I have a new excuse to read them again and to justify my having about a quarter of my books... "But honey, they're for the grandbabies!"
