Last year, when we were looking to move, I thought that the folks in Boston sounded almost as if they had a tad of a British accent. They had a much easier time understanding me than the people down here do. Down here, I seem to have a terrible time with the native Atlantan's for some reason. New Yorker's are also very difficult for me to understand. They seem to drop the last letter of every word they are saying off. Perhaps it is me, but that has been my experience.

I used to work in SW Texas and I had a REALLY hard time sometimes getting my wants and needs understood!

I tried to get a piece of dark chocolate cake once at a restaurant and it turned into a major interpretive dance session!

Good thing I got a GPS for Christmas! Next time it won't take us so long to go from Andover to Worcester!

This GPS is hilarious...it talks. If you miss a turn, it will either say recalculating route or when able, make a LEGAL u-turn and ....

I want it to say...hey stupid, you missed the turn!

Is that where you learned how to dance on the table?

Texas was easy...everyone is "fixin' to do somethin"

When we first moved to Boston, everyone wanted to know what part of the South I was from. When I answered I was from Oregon, they were totally confused. First, most of them didn't know where Oregon was and those that did, had no idea it was part of the South! LOL!

If you are not from Boston, you are from the South...you're either a Yankee or you're not...took me a while to figure that out! I did like Boston but it was a difficult place to live in!

Being a big Red Sox fan helped a lot!

1. I love the instant acceptance here at NT

2. I love seeing all the friendly faces here that I know and will get to know

3. I love everyone who runs NT for taking time to say a kind word to us newbies

That we can attach links to information, that are not completely biased towards one point of view.

However . . . buyer beware.

Default So much to love

There is so much to love here! But the most important to me is the great welcome all of us refugees have received. I am so grateful to have found such a warm and lively community!

I also love how DocJohn so patiently and intelligently explains things when someone asks a question. Is he real? Somebody pinch me!
