Thanks for the update, Gret.. I was wondering about our lil Lukie.

It's a good sign that he's eating and interested in his toys.

I'll cross my fingers that his results will be normal.

Smoochie Lukie for me again!

Oh Greta I'm sorry your boy has to go thru that. They really are part of our hearts aren't they.

I hope it goes well and will say a little prayer for him.

I am glad to hear he came thru the surgery pretty good. I am saying a qiuet little prayer the biopsy turns out fine and this was all a scare. Tyler the wonder dog says give him a huge Milk Bone (and says he doesn't even have to share!)

Said in my best forrest gump voice, "Lukie's got the cancer"

Yup, grade 2 mast cell tumor. They don't know if they got it all and talked about going back in or doing chemo. I'm not sure what I think about that. He had a muscle tumor 4 years ago without a clear margin, and he was just fine. We may play it by ear. I'll hear more when the margin report comes back in.

He's doing wonderfully right now - happy as a clam, full of energy, enjoying his walks more than ever, so we may just stay the course. He's the best dog ever!

I'm so sorry the results weren't benign, Greta! I will hope and pray for the best.

Well, it isn't anything you didn't expect, but that doesn't quell the sinking heart feeling, huh? Your boy sounds like a good guy.

Guess you'll have to base your decision on whether or not you think he could handle another surgery so soon after the one he just had or whether or not the expense of doing chemo will really add much to his life. It might just make his life more miserable.

The boy's lived a good life so far, especially with having you as his person, so if you decide to let him live without chemo (based on a quality of life analysis), then you're not doing him wrong. You only have his best interests at heart, so you won't let him suffer no matter what decision you make.

Those little buggers crawl right into our hearts and take over. It's hard to be so attached to one of them. Love's fun.
