For all you new people here, I am a Grandma of 2 wonderful little girls, ages 6 and 1. I live in Evansville, In and they live 3 hours away in Lexington Ky. Last Sunday their power went out and they found out their meter was busted. Luckily they belong to a large church that is blessed with many proffesions and people with huge heart. A master electrician was off on Monday so he was able to devote a lot of his day in putting in a new meter and whatever else had to be done. But he had to do it on his own time the rest of the week. So he finishes last night. My daughter calls the electric company this morning and they tell her to call the inspecter first before they can turn her power on. So the inspector says there should have been a general contractor on the job all along!!!!!! She said she wasn't told that and he just said 'lady I don't make the rules, I just inforce them.' Another family in the church has been housing this family of four since Sunday night. I don't know how much longer they can do that.
What is also bad is that they live in this trailer that would be better off leveled to the ground but my daughter and her husband haven't always made good finacial choices and that's all they can afford. To top it all of, we were planning on going down to see them this weekend. So now that more than likely is off. I know it has just been since Christmas that I've seen those little angels, but I miss them. OK, I feel better just venting. |
