Surgery is done

Yippee! A metal plate and 6 screws to cinch things up, and a big obnoxious cast and new crutches.

I did get out of the house today (first time since Monday) -- went to my weight-loss weigh-in. Can you believe I actually lost a whole pound, even though I didn't deny myself anything on the cruise? (Of course I DID tell them the cast weighed 25 lbs. teehee!) :D

Thanks for the nice phone calls and even a GW card! You guys are great!

Should be done with casts and crutches by the first week in May. Thanks again for all your well-wishes. I feel loved! :circlelove:

Just so glad that you're on the road to recovery.
Hugs from Oz.

GIGI!!! So it's YOUR fault I got the cast? Hmmmpht!

Not to worry, Kay -- I think I'll send it back to Texas! :D

Remember when everyone was clamoring for AMN's "Mystery Package?" Let's hear some noise for the cast!!!

but I *do* remember crutches (skiing - twisted knee, 1/2 marathon - twisted ankle)

and I haveta say...you're a bein' a real trooper about all this, 'cause I HATE crutches!

Vacation

We're planning a vacation in Washington in June for 3 weeks, working on putting a wardrobe together and packing as light as possible. We're flying, so going to try and pack it all in one large suitcase as the dogs will have a small suitcase with dishes, food, toys, sweaters, etc. And I'll take their metal wire crate, it folds up and I can keep it closed with zip strips.....don't want it getting bent up.....

Thank goodness the dogs can sit with us, either on the floor at our feet or up on our laps, they weigh next to nothing and are accustomed to being very close to us all the time so they won't be a problem, and I already called the airlines, they don't have to be crated as they are service dogs, and they don't count against the number of pets allowed in the cabin, since they are not "pets".

Can anyone tell me what the weather is like in June around the Olympia, WA area....I haven't been there in June since 1991 so I have quite forgotten.

Okay, I've really been out of touch! I pm'd you earlier this week Twink, but I hadn't read any of this thread beforehand!

I am so sorry you had such a rough time on vacation! I've been on one cruise, and it was great! I can't believe your tough luck.

I got a little scratched snorkeling, and I was a bit of a boob over that! But look at you!

I hope they took good care of you during surgery, and that you just use this time to rest up.

And keep that sweet spirit! You are a hoot.

(And I'm sorry I got a laugh at your expense - but your descriptions were just too funny!)
