Whenever I smell lilac blooming outside I am immediately in the backyard of the house I grew up in. My mother had lilac everywhere and I could smell it through my open bedroom window. Such a simple thing yet everytime I get a whiff of it I'm right back "home" again.

I long for that simpler time. . . . .
