Last night DH and I were talking and I had said that I haven't had a panic attack in over 4 months (I use to have them daily and I take GABA and it's helped SO much) anyway DH said "That's good but you know I think your body feels the need to react some how and it's choosing the numbness now". I asked what he was really saying (like I didn't know) he goes on about how my body was use to to having the panic attacks and still had the need to react some how and he thought my legs being partly numbness for 10 weeks straight was the way my body was reacting now.
Little bit of history, I was always shy but than 10 years ago started having panic attacks. Tried therapy, meds when I wasn't pregnant. Than just learned how to deal with them. About a year or so ago I tried GABA and the panic attacks almost stopped and my mood was even better. I really don't even feel I have anxiety any more, I do have a bit of shyness if I'm alone in a new place tho but still don't have a full panic like I use to. Just incase someone doesn't understand the real differences between "anxiety" and "social anxiety" I posted some info in my profile.

Only way to find out is to persue it....not a fun process I know....I consider it to be just more tests, like the LP and MRI....it either is,or isn't

I know, It's just hard to keep a positive attitude when you have someone you love and even look up to tell you something that hurts. I had put most of all this out of my mind again and what just doing my day to day stuff like it's just fibro again than DH tells me how he really feels and I'm just like WT???, it just came out of no where almost. My attitude has been great lately also, I'm even sleeping better. I just need to keep in mind that DH doesn't know what goes on with me ALL the time and he's not a Dr.

I feel that way about my DH as well. He is smart and I respect his opinion alot. When we don't mind meld on something, I can get hurt too. I have a high opinion of my DH and sometimes, to prove him wrong () I will do what I have to, so he will put it to rest....and agree with me...LOL!!
My DH dose not think it's in my head, but if he did....I'd feel like you.

Just keep in mind that your husband would rather it be "in your mind" than for something to be "wrong with you".
He just doesn't understand. What is that saying? You just don't get it...until you get it!

I think Victoria is right.
Other people can have some understanding with things they can see. Walk in with a cast on your leg and they get that. Try to explain the stuff they can't see though. That's like religion, they either have faith in you or they don't. It can take time (and persistance) to convince them. Question is do you want to persue it? I did. I got to a point where I wondered if I needed a shrink more than a neuro - so I went to see one. I told him exactly why I was there - am I nuts, or could this possibly be happening to me? All the weird sx, all the tests, what the docs were saying. He told me I was fine - if I was stressed and upset, that was normal under my circumstances. But he said I seemed to be dealing with it pretty well, really. The other thing is - that other people need to think about - that even things that are *all in your head* are medical issues. People with any medical issues deserve help and understanding.
