For me, the first sign that spring was right around the corner happened last night.

Let me set the scene for you first. It snowed here over the weekend (big surprise huh?) we got over a foot of snow on top of the two feet or so we already have. The plows came through on the one lane dirt road that I live off of and combed back the snowbanks, making them about 6 feet high on either side of the road. The houses on the road are all summer homes, so no driveways are open. It's like driving down a long white alley.

I left for work after dark and I see what appears to be a cat ahead of me. I get up closer and it's this HUGE skunk, running down the road in front of me. Of course it won't go over a snowbank to get out of the road, and I am NOT having the mouse car get scented, so I slow down and let it go along it's merry way.

Well the little @#$%^&* just saunters down the road in front of me for almost a MILE. Neither of us have any other way to go. He won. He finally took a left into a space where the plow pushed some snow off onto someone's lawn and watched me go by, almost glaring at me for hurrying him!

Spring IS coming!

Prior to this year in TX, signs of Spring for me were the Bluebonnets and other wild flowers showing up. This year I'm in NC and I've seen flowers in bloom, not sure what they are. They almost look out of place or like they were planted maybe by the state in specific locations, but they are pretty. So I guess the bloom of the flowers would be my sign of Spring no matter where I'm at.

I love thinking about spring! I went without a jacket yesterday and started seeing all these "springy" things and got to wondering what other people look for to know it's getting close.

Here in Pittsburgh, we will have more winter before spring is here to stay, so I just have to keep thinking about it! Yesteday was warm and sunny, but today is rainy and it's going to get colder and we will have more snow again. I think as long as I can have periodic spring days until it's finally here, I will survive!

I loved that story RW...

I'll know it's Spring when I get in a better mood....

Seriously, my DH's seed/garden magazines are in the mailbox everyday.

*he has a humongous garden every yr*

Also, when it rains, there are little earth worms on the driveway.. They's is frozen right now....

It's hard for me to describe. It's literally something in the air that lets me know spring is coming. I can "smell" it. It's coming for sure, not fast enough for me, but it's coming.

My hubby calls me his weather forcaster. I'm usually more right than the tv stations, LOL.

My relatives appearing are always a sure sign! Except this year I understand that my really not so bright relatives flew a little too early north....that's because it has felt so warm down here!

We had a little Spring teaser, yesterday. It was 60 degrees. Today it is back in the 30s and raining with snow later.. We also are under a flood watch.

But......It's coming....I smole it too..

The first bunch of baby bunnies I find. The crocuses coming up and blooming, soon to be followed by the daffodills.

Bird - LOL!

With this wacky weather, I see the Canada geese come north as soon as it warms up a little, then they're flying south when it gets cold again. Back and forth, back and forth.

They've got to be beat by now. Sometimes they just fly around in circles.
They drive the dogs nutty with all the honking - they think it's one of their toys.
