Default Ever had "Buyer's Remorse?"

Okay, so I bought a piece of art on the cruise. I love it, BUT, it doesn't match anything I have! Where the heck am I going to hang the thang?

It's BIG, so I can't just hang it inconspicuously somewhere. I don't really have a case of buyer's remorse, just kinda slapping myself upside the head and asking, "Why couldn't you have fallen in love with something that at least matched the house decor?"

Just waiting for some artsy fartsy folks to bring up Romero Britto in conversation. "Oh yeah," I'll say casually. "I've got one of his pieces in my collection." I just won't tell them it's a collection of ONE!

How about painting just one wall to hang it on, so that the colours match Twink? Just the one, mind you.....how would that be?

Surely the cost of paint wouldn't be that much??? Do you thunk Mr. Twink would go for that?

Are you in the "mud" for buying it now you got it home and it doesn't seem to go?

Mr. Twink would go along with that, but I'd have to be the one doing the painting! Can't you just picture me falling off the ladder and getting my cast stuck in a bucket of bright blue paint?

No, I'm not in trubble: Mr. Twink gave the nod if I spent my own $$$. It won't be here for another 4-5 weeks, so I have time to give it some thought.

What kind of frame is it in? Maybe if you change the frame, it might fit an area of your house then?

You dont need to have everything in your house match, break up the colors occasionally. My dad just bought an oak desk, which is next to our teak dining room table, in the same room that my mom's white, distressed wood desk is in...across the room from that is the plasma tv, white fireplace mantel, and an oak entertainment center.

The couch is black, love seat #1 is red, love seat #2 is white, and the carpeting is white. Practically nothing matches, but the professional designer that we've used occasionally said that if the furniture is placed the right way, everything works together.

So, Erin, what's the name of that designer???

Back in a minute...must go move furniture around.

Oh my.....Do NOT go up the ladder Twink!

I would not like to be responsible for what might happen. I'm starting to think that you're as accident prone as I am!

Hey, pretty cool work by Romero. Twink, if you have one of his pieces, you really CAN find some place to put it.

How about a bathroom?? They're small, not too hard to paint, and you can go with a primary color theme?

Any big hallways in your house? Find a neutral frame for the painting, and you may be able to get away with it.

I had a painting that didn't seem to go, changed the frame to a darker color and it made a big difference. It's easier than buying new furniture

I should have buyer's remorse from every time I went on vacation. I am one of those people who came back with the Hawaiian dresses, Indian masks, Australian digery-do, or Mexican jewellery.

My house looks like a bad garage sale.

I don't care. I have wonderful memories surrounding me, and since I can't travel much any more, I treasure them.
